The more than one thread option had been disabled as it is very buggy.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.04.0

Environment settings: set processing threads to 1. Multithreading is not
possible at the moment. Render -> tick “parallel processing” -> tick “more
options” -> on the right side set threads to “0”. This is the fastest render
setting. If you have problem with the rendered video untick “parallel
processing”.
