[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 402849] Fuzzy clock moving around on desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402849 --- Comment #6 from Michael --- Christoph, thank you for your work on this issue. Fuzzy Clock here is still moving; my system: Kernel: 5.0.0-23 Operating System: kUBUNTU 18.04.2 KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.8 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.47.0 Qt Version: 5.9.5 So, in general I have an "older" system than Colin, although Backports deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ bionic-backports main restricted universe multiverse are part my /etc/apt/sources.list. Due to time reasons, actually I can't update to UBUNTU 19 and in general, I prefer the LTS-versions. If there is another chance to renew Plasma or Frameworks or whatever is responsible for the issue, please let me know. Using VirtualBox, I checked two more actual systems; also with these the clocks are moving: VirtualBox --> kUBUNTUneon, showing the following system-information: Operating System: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS (Bionic Beaver) KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3 Kernel Version: 4.15.0-55-generic VirtualBox --> MANJARO system having: Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0 Qt Version: 5.13.0 Kernel Version: 4.19.60-1-MANJARO Please let me know, if I could check or change anything else. [kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 402849] Fuzzy clock moving around on desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402849 --- Comment #4 from Colin J Thomson --- I have just tested this again with the latest set of updates and after ~ 2 hours the clock has kept its position so far. Operating System: Fedora 30 KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 402849] Fuzzy clock moving around on desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402849 --- Comment #3 from Michael --- Some more detail: The location of the Plasmaoid is only depending on the time, the machine is on since booting. This means, if I start in the afternoon, it's in the rigt edge, as desired; starting in the morning, it's almost centered on the screen at noontime. If the computer is on over night, next morning the Plasmaoid is in the second or third line from top, e.g. after it reaches the left edge of the screen, it steps down and starts moving to the right. Reaching the right edge, again one line down and moving to the left. In addition to that, let's assume, the Plasmaoid is actually in the third line, centered: It's not possible to move it back to the desired location, it jumps automatically back to a lower line and a position more on the left side. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 402849] Fuzzy clock moving around on desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402849 --- Comment #2 from Michael --- Thanks Colin for your confirmation. You are right, the little movements occur, when the text (and its length) changes. I tried to understand, which position (center, left edge, rigth edge) of the old text is taken for the new text, but I could not find any rule that fits to all. Mine is also set to highest accuracy and over an hour I took screenshots for each step, which can be seen in the GIF at the beginning. It seems to change its position when the length of the text changes.
