Please do not contain the original text when responding via e-mail. Simply
start with a blank mail because otherwise it screws up the web display which we
devs use. See for yourself e.g. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469420#c3
Thanks in advance.

To me this sounds like a CSS problem. The reports are rendered using HTML and
should use different instructions when printing to the display and the printer.
Since that is not working properly, it could well be a packaging problem. Can
you try to use an AppImage version of KMyMoney and see if that has the same
problem? You can find instructions at https://kmymoney.org/appimage.html and
the download at
https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/AppImage/job/KMyMoney_Release_appimage-centos7/
(don't worry about the centos7 part, it's just a name). The AppImage can be
installed alongside your distro version without problems.

I also tried Kmymoney 5.1.3 on a Windows 11 virtual machine (from my Manjaro
system) and it produced the PDF reports without any problem. So perhaps this is
specific to how Kmymoney was compiled for the Manjaro and Garuda community
repositories.

Thank you for your response. I did mention my OS(s) in my original report, but
perhaps I put it in the wrong section (I put it in the OBSERVED RESULT
section). I tried it on two different machines: one is a desktop running
Manjaro linux and the other is a laptop running Garuda linux. These are both
Arch derivatives. I tried using the same "print to PDF" option in the KDE
application Kate and had no similar problems. From Kate, the PDF file was
clear (including fonts of various colors). You mention that you think the
fonts in the Kmymoney report are light colored and thus unreadable. I think it
may have something to do with the colored backgrounds in the section where the
fonts are unreadable. You will note in the file I attached that the fonts are
very clear in the sections of the report where there is no colored background.

First, please state which OS or Distribution you are using.
When you print to PDF from other applications, is the result OK, or do you see
a similar problem? I cannot replicate this issue - when I print a report to
PDF, it looks like I would expect.
What the example looks like is that it is using extremely light colored fonts,
which are almost unreadable due to lack of contrast. However, looking into the
pdf file, it appears that it is all an image, there is no actual text present.
Note that opening the file in Okular, you cannot select any text - because
there is not. This makes me wonder if there is something odd about your
installed printing software. Can you try printing from another KDE
application? It it has the same problem, we know it is not specific to
KMyMoney, but something deeper in the system.
