Bug ID: 436825 Summary: KRunner and the app-launcher share the same config settings and they should have their own separate config file. Product: krunner Version: 5.21.4 Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: windows Assignee: alexander.loh...@gmx.de Reporter: p.stephenwi...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 138267 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=138267&action=edit KRunner/App-launcher share same config settings SUMMARY KRunner and the app launcher (Kickoff) share the same configuration settings. This means that KRunner needs to have Applications checked in order for the app launcher to display Application results. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. in Krunner config, deselect Applications 2. in the app-launcher (meta key), type Firefox 3. expect to see no results; see attached screenshot OBSERVED RESULT no Firefox app is listed EXPECTED RESULT Config settings for the app launcher are distinct and separate from KRunner SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: Operating System: Kubuntu 21.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.0-7614-generic OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 16 × Intel® Core™ i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz Memory: 31.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060/PCIe/SSE2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I use KRunner to switch between running apps/windows and browser tabs only. The app-launcher is for launching apps, opening folders, and everything else. I don't know that it makes sense to have two separate apps sharing the same config like this, and it boinks my workflow. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
