Created attachment 96132
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=96132=edit
journalctl -b output

Yes, it works when I test with the new user switcher plasmoid. I created a
completely new user and tested again and nothing happen when I do it from
K -> Leave -> New Session
I am attaching the whole journalctl -b log in case you can figure out
something.

--- Comment #5 from Kai Uwe Broulik ---
The output doesn't show anything unusual. Does it work when you start a new
session from kickoff or the new user switcher plasmoid? However, they all use
KDisplayManager which is pretty old, so most likely something in your setup
that breaks it.

the session handling code got reimplemented in 5.5 and I'm assuming it's fixed.
In case you still experience the problem with 5.5 please reopen.
