Ok now i've made some experiment:

I tried with "Funtoo Stable" with xorg-server-1.17.4 and "nouveau" drivers.
The users exchange now takes place on a regular basis. Then the problem is
probably due to the release of xorg-server and / or proprietary nvidia-drivers.

Sorry for this bug report; Now the "users-switch" seems to work properly.

I tried it with "Funtoo Stable" with xorg-server-1.17.4 and "nouveau" drivers.
The users exchange now takes place on a regular basis. Then the problem is
probably due to the release of xorg-server and / or proprietary nvidia-drivers.

But I also tried other distributions as Manjaro and devuan; with them there
were problems with nouveau.

I hope this feedback can be considered "positive" :)
I will write in "nvidia.com" that there are troubles with graphics proprietary
drivers _'_
Thanks for All _'_

Sorry but if i use -ggdb *FLAG (with -O0) the system give to me errors; let me
try to ask Gentoo or Funtoo forums to know "how to creates a good back-trace".

Hi dear; also using a "new fresh" user the trouble is still present.
sandro@ci74771ht ~ $ df -h
File system Dim. Usati Dispon. Uso% Montato su
udev 10M 0 10M 0% /dev
/dev/sda641G 16G 24G 41% /
tmpfs 1,6G 1,2M1,6G 1% /run
cgroup_root 10M 0 10M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup

/dev/sdb2 246G 66G168G 29% /home
/dev/sdb1 550G 236G315G 43% /mnt/Volume

If You want (but for me will be the first time) i can recompile all my Funtoo
(e. g. emerge -e world --keep-going)with "debug option activated" and in *FLAGS
to add the -gddb USE flag.

Tell me if may be a good idea or not; and i've necessity about a "little"
assintance ... cause for me is the first time that i try to introduce
"debugging" in my sytem. However i've started the emerge -e world. Excuse my
ignorance but i wish to learn so can give to you a good feedback.

Thanx for interest :)

You are getting bug 348194, but I am unsure if it is the cause for the session
crash. You might need to check available disk space, or try with a fresh user
account.

* Accedi ed esegui il comando:

I tried it with the drivers nouveau.
But with nouveau i've some troubles.
Then i think may be better to focus on my (and others) systems with the
nvidia-drivers; i have necessity to use nvidia-drivers because I have to be
able to use technology "cuda" & "OpenCL".
Some time ago I have already reported in the nvidia forum my problem.
But there was no answer.

Since my system is Funtoo (similar to Gentoo) , i give You a link with my
configuration files:

https://github.com/Sandro1972/My_Funtoo_config_files_and_Scripts/

I've build my system using those config_files . _'_

Which process crashes? If it is indeed the plasmashell process, please add the
backtrace. For more information, please see
https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

If the the X11 server process crashes, the bug is most likely in the video
drivers, and you would need to report it to their developers via
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/
