It only happens with certain themes. I was using CullaX Theme:
https://store.kde.org/p/1278039/

Switching to Breeze Dark fixes the issue, switching to CullaX generated theme
reintroduces it.

Maybe, because two days ago I received QT5 update and yesterday noticed this
problem.

Killed xembedsniproxy, memory usage is still high

I added system tray to desktop, I unchecked everything from it's settings and
quit every application that spawned tray icon so tray was empty.

It is still using 8GB

you try killing xembedsniproxy? Can you try disabling one widget at a time to
figure out which one might be causing this?
