Aside from global menu, apps perform differently under xwayland compared to wayland. For example, on-screen keyboards have a much harder time detecting text fields. Certain apps update at a lower frame rate when running under xwayland, compared to X11 (for example VSCode/VSCodium, which is electron, therefore GTK).
