That sounds like a bug in KMail. If you keep KMail open and restart plasma with
`plasmashell --replace`, does the unread count update correctly?

I have noticed that the panel does not update the state. For example, after I
have read all mails in kmail, the icon shows that there are unread mails until
I close the application. Then it shows that there is no unread mails (the
icon).

But I did not fixed it in video.

I have met it only once. But it seems to have the same reason. Let us see…

But the original problem with the not updating is not fixed.

I did not try resizing the panel. Indeed since the report I have not met the
situation. Since I restart KDE quite oft.
But I have met other situation. When opening the session, my typing is not
represented on the screen. And the screen does not react on mouse clicks.
Though, the correct typing of the password opened the session.
I think those problems are related.

No, there was no significant increase of the CPU usage.

I have never used the gammaray. What does mean "changing to show the panel"?

Does resizing the panel magically fix things?

In ksysguard is plasmashell using a sane amount of CPU?

Can you attach gammaray, confirm if the preview in "Quick Scenes" looks correct
after changing to show the panel?
