Bug ID: 471843 Summary: Systematic crash after each startup (after computer start or reboot) Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.27.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: generic-multiscreen Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: christophe3...@yahoo.fr CC: aleix...@kde.org, notm...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 160031 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=160031&action=edit Backtrace STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start or reboot computer 2. Enter password at Login screen OBSERVED RESULT Right after entering session, plasmashell process crashes and restarts I have two 4K monitors connected to a desktop PC under Debian. One of these monitors is also connected to a laptop (windows). Random crashes of plasmashell occur also during session. After having installed GDB to create the backtrace, I switched one of my two monitors' input to the laptop and when I switched back to desktop, the display didn't came back. Even after restart, my debian machine is now crippled with only one display, with a systematic crash of the ksplashqml process at each logon. I recently converted my desktop machine from windows 8.1 to linux. So far, and contrary to popular belief, my experience with Linux is far less stable as windows (I also get almost systematic black screens after sleep wake up, forcing me to reboot). Overall, rather disappointing.
