You could be very right that happened after installing the nvidia driver but before rebooting. (Nvidia on my 'NVIDIA Corporation TU106 [GeForce RTX 2060 Rev. A] (rev a1)' seems to be delicate on F36. However I do run Plasma etc from zawertun's COPR so it is right up to date. Maybe it has already been fixed?
