Bug ID: 488646 Summary: [wayland] Pressing Ctrl+F will focus search bars in System Settings, but they cannot receive text input until clicked Classification: Applications Product: systemsettings Version: 6.0.5 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: eamonn...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Pressing Ctrl+F to focus a search bar in System Settings will visually focus that searchbar, but it cannot receive text input. The text field has to be clicked before any text can be entered. This does not visually update the field in any way, as Ctrl+F will visually focus the field but it does not accept text until clicked. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a System Settings page with a search bar, such as Shortcuts or Desktop Effects. 2. Press Ctrl+F to focus the search bar. 3. The search bar will receive visual focus. 4. Attempt to enter text with the keyboard. 5. No text will be entered in the search bar. 6. Click on the search bar and attempt to enter some text. 7. The search field will now be able to receive text. OBSERVED RESULT Pressing Ctrl+F will visually focus the search field but it cannot receive text and so it cannot be searched. EXPECTED RESULT Pressing Ctrl+F should visually and practically focus the search field. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS These are the specifications of my current machine, but I have another machine with nearly identical Plasma version (both running Arch, one is just slightly further behind with the kernel but same KDE software versions) that has the same problem. Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.9.5 Linux Zen KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Unsure if this affects the X11 session. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
