I can't say what should be done in QtCurve (not my responsibility). So, I have
nothing to add anymore.

[kwin] [Bug 374881] New: Lags when resizing Qt4 windows on Wayland

2017-01-10 Thread Igor Poboiko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374881

Bug ID: 374881
   Summary: Lags when resizing Qt4 windows on Wayland
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: igor.pobo...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When I resize freshly opened Skype window (either maximized from the tray icon
or just new instance of skype), it only resizes by several pixels (it resizes
the window twice) and then freezes. After randomly moving/resizing the window
several times (didn't manage to find regularity), resize starts working well.

Apparently, this is an issue with Qt4 applications: I've managed to reproduce
it only with Skype and FBReader. It is also an issue with Wolfram Mathematica;
however, not sure which toolkit they use.
I've also tested Qt5 applications with both wayland and xcb platforms
(Dolphin), GTK applications (Inkscape), some Java applications (SweetHome3D) --
all of them work fine.

Same issue here, this bug concerns the freehand tool but also the dynamic brush

I'm using an Acer sw5-017 tablet with multitouch screen on Windows 10, there is
no specific touchscreen drivers, it is using the default Microsoft driver.

Since this bug is caused by a conflict with the gesture, could a setting to
disable gesture but enable painting with touchscreen devices be a possible

--- Comment #18 from mnader@outlook.com ---
This bug has been open since 2015? I think the priority should be raised.

It's a simple fix: use a UI layout that adds scrollbars. I think this ticket
does not describe the issue in a way that expresses how bad it is, the user can
permanently lock themselves (assuming a user that doesn't know terminal
commands) out of making system changes. Here is a paste from my duplicate
ticket #374839:

"The Displays dialog does not show scrollbars when its size exceeds the
available space. So if you change to a lower resolution, one that hides
OK/Apply, it becomes impossible to change display options from then on. This
bug is complemented by the fact that scaling options only apply after a reboot,
the user can trap themselves"

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 374882] New: Double clicks needed instead of single ones

2017-01-10 Thread Martin Jost

Bug ID: 374882
   Summary: Double clicks needed instead of single ones
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: 5.0.1
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Browser
  Assignee: kpab...@willden.org
  Reporter: nos...@majo.name
  Target Milestone: ---

In my system settings, I have configured KDE to use double clicks to
"open files and folders " (as the explanation says)
Now I have to also use double clicks e.g. to "enter" the different top
level items on the main screen. ("People", "Places", ...)
Even if I want to select an entry in "Settings/Birthdays", I need a
double click.
These turn to single clicks, if I change this KDE setting.
But because I want this "single click to just select", this is no good
option.
The behaviour had been single clicks, irrespective of the settings in
previous versions. (So I assume this is an effect of KDE4 <=> 5 and not a
conscious change in KPA itself)

I'm using openSUSE Leap 42.2 as OS (QT 5.6.1; KDE Plasma 5.8.3, KDE Framework
5.26.0)

--- Comment #3 from Ferdinand Gruber  ---
(In reply to Kåre Särs from comment #2)

> it is a bit strange to try to open foo.txt and get baar.txt ...

Sorry, I cannot quite understand this argument.

If a particular file is already opened, why it gets reopended after each click
on a line in the search result?
I cannot understand, why it is not possible to find out, whether a particular
file is already opened or not.

If it is already opened, there is no need to open it a second time ...

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Target Milestone: ---

If i choose the Breeze icon theme and put the «folder-gdrive» icon to a folder,
it has the Google Drive logo, but if I choose the Breeze Dark icon theme, the
same icon has a cloud, and not the Google Drive logo.

http://imgur.com/a/prU6D

It would be nice to have the Google Drive logo in the two themes.

Actually I use the Breeze icon theme 5.29.0, in KDE Neon.

I meant to swap two konsole tabs and acidentally detached instead. So I

I really hate the single PID konsole. When it crashes its an awful user

[QtCurve] [Bug 374224] KFileDialog Options drop-down menu grabs keyboard and mouse with QtCurve style

2017-01-10 Thread Yichao Yu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374224

--- Comment #45 from Yichao Yu  ---
> Yichao, what do you think, can I commit this patch?

Using WA_TranslucentBackground for QMenu sounds safe. Be sure to check if
flipping the menu opacity setting to 100% after application started doesn't
regress. (I can't remember which case(s) are correctly handled and which are
not but I'm pretty sure it's one of the side effects related to setting the
attribute)

The interaction between WA_TranslucentBackground with other settings is AFAIK
still present in latest version of qtbase so I wouldn't use it for all widgets.
That said I have main window opacity setting to 100% for a while so I didn't
noticed that there are a few regressions there (most noticeably menubars) so
more investigation is needed.

I assume the freeze only happens in kdialog 16.12? (I can't reproduce it on
16.08).

[KScreen] [Bug 354227] kcm_kscreen is too high

2017-01-10 Thread Erik Quaeghebeur
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354227

--- Comment #20 from Erik Quaeghebeur  ---
(In reply to Christoph Feck from comment #19)
> You can move a window with Alt+LMB, so you are not locked out.

I tried this just now, pressing Alt-L, Alt-M, and Alt-B with the screen
settings open, to see what would happen. It didn't move the window, but just
changed some stuff in it. Even if there is a way to move the window, it will be
unknown to most, so in effect one can be ‘locked out’ because of this issue.

Perhaps reducing the standard (minimal?) height of the screen layout canvas
provides an easy, although perhaps not ideal fix? Not much is needed to satisfy
the 786-pixel height restriction that is still common. I've noticed that this
canvas scales with the window size, so people with large enough screens can
still create a large canvas if they so desire.

I am still very confused with the fact that we get different behaviours at all.
Everything is downloaded and built with these scripts, so where does this

One way to tackle this could be to display posted amounts ("directly assigned
splits") and calculated totals in different columns (please see attached
screenshots). That way, the toggling for the totals is not required anymore, as
both figures are visible at once. Would change existing look & feel though...

I can submit a patch/review request for that kind of behavior, if

OK, got it. The difference is that in the ECM test the sip_generator.py command

doesn't. Running the sip_generator line manually and adding "-std=gnu++14" to
--flags generates a correct sip file for kguiaddons.

[kdevelop] [Bug 374889] New: CPP language parser does not c++14 understand digit separators

2017-01-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374889

Bug ID: 374889
   Summary: CPP language parser does not c++14 understand digit
separators
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.0.80
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Language Support: CPP (Clang-based)
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rjwgn...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Using C++14 digit separators, the CPP semantic analysis reports an error:

Ex:
if ( value > 100'000'000'000'000'000ll) {
suffix = "P";
if (isSet(fmt, xfmt::round))
value +=   500'000'000'000'000ll;
value /= 1'000'000'000'000'000ll;
} else if ( value > 100'000'000'000'000ll) {
suffix = "T";
if (isSet(fmt, xfmt::round))
value +=   500'000'000'000ll;
value /= 1'000'000'000'000ll;
} else if ( value > 100'000'000'000ll) {

Hovering over the 'if' line, the pop-up says:
 "Problem in semantic analysis
  Location: ...
  Expected ')'..."

Hovering over the first "value += ..." I get:
 "expected ';' after expression."

Hovering over the second else-if:
  "Missing terminating ' character"

Bug ID: 374891
   Summary: GREPME MySQLe query failed! (2000)
   Product: amarok
   Version: 2.8.0
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org
  Reporter: tuk...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 2.9

Created attachment 103337
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103337&action=edit
error message (init)

There are other bugs with similar names to this but they are from 2.5 and
Amarok was working fine for me until today so I think this is probably a new
bug even if the error message is similar to others. I am attaching the error
message in question, which mentions '989 error messages", which sounds pretty
grave.

This error message shows when opening Amarok. After closing it the application
still shows up on the tray and looks normal but when I try to play a song it
crashes without further messages or errors.

I emptied the loaded playlist (songs shown on the UI) and when trying to
activate a dynamic playlist I noticed my collection was gone. I am rescaning it
as we speak - it was not marked anymore on the "Local collection" options
section.

Even after the rescan I still can't generate a dynamic playlist. The error
still shows after restarting Amarok. After the restart the options menu
remember the folder I've selected but Amarok still shows "0 tracks" for the
Local Collection view. My view bookmarks are also gone. My scripts are
remembered fine from what I can tell from before the upgrade.

This renders the package completely useless for me. I am going to post this to
Debian as well in case it's their fault in packaging but as far as I can tell
it could be some internal problem as well.

I can't reproduce the crash anymore after I cleared the loaded playlist (from
previous sessions). Playing songs directly from the internal filesystem browser
still cause Amarok to crash though. I'll be attaching the crash output in a
separate file. Both reports were taken via the --debug parameter, with some
personal information removed.

[QtCurve] [Bug 374224] KFileDialog Options drop-down menu grabs keyboard and mouse with QtCurve style

2017-01-10 Thread RJVB
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374224

--- Comment #46 from RJVB  ---
Is what you're asking in any way different from launching the QtCurve theme
editor via `kcmshell5 style`, setting menu opacity to 50%, confirming they
indeed become translucent (I had to detach the preview for that) and then
putting the opacity back to 100%?

Flipping back to 100% after starting the app with menu opacity at 50% works on
Mac as far as I can tell. I'll test under X11 tomorrow.

It would be good if this patch was tested on more than a single system before
going in.

I started noticing the freeze after updating to 16.12.0 and then a few days
later, to Qt 5.7.1 . I think I downgraded to see if it was related to the
upgrade but can't remember the outcome of that test. I use the menus involved
only occasionally.

[digikam] [Bug 374799] Feature request - ability to convert video files

2017-01-10 Thread Roger Foss
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374799

--- Comment #3 from Roger Foss  ---
Well, my take on this is if you want to convert video files, you will probably
want to do it repeatedly, to batches of files. Hence, the BQM. Also once
that's implemented, I can imagine applying other base tools to videos. Ie. amp
up the brightness, add some metadata, enhance contrast. I could see the some
of the same base tools apply to video.

I shall not get too far ahead: I know digikam is primarily a photo management
tool. My point is this: why NOT the BQM?

Plasma requires a working OpenGL driver. Please ask in a VMWare forum how to
enable hardware OpenGL acceleration; the 'swrast' driver will not work for
Plasma.

As I said, it worked without problems in KDE 4. I was working with that config
for two years, till I changed to OpenSUSE 42.1 with Plasma. So IMHO is not an X
issue.
