Baloo should have little trouble with Ext4... Baloo builds its internal "file
identifier" from the inode and the device number. With Ext2/3/4 the inode is
stable and only in unusual situations (when adding/removing discs or changing
the order they are mounted) do you see the Device number change.

If you are mounting with NFS, watch to see whether you get different inode
values each time you mount. It would be interesting to see what you see...

There's an additional command line tool you can try to get extra information
about a file "on disc":
$ stat The_Monster.mp4
That should give you a line including the "Device:" and "Inode:" numbers. If
these keep changing then baloo is going to have trouble :-/

Good Luck...

Hi, I Don't know how to do that on Arch and KDE debug guide says it may not be
possible(on Arch) but I tried to follow the kwin debug guide and attached a GDB

Pen issue

SUMMARY

Hi. First of all I want to apologize for my limited English skills - I will do
my best to explain this issue.
I am using Lenovo Idea pad flex 5 laptop which has a touch screen. I use a

completely fine. But in krita the brush actually shows up not where I drag the
pen. This happens every other time I use the pen. I have reinstalled Krita and
also tried to configure it, but the issue remains. I will try to attach a video
of showing the issue.

Hi, ivanarichterova0!

Try switching between WinInk and WinTab tablet API in Krita settings
(Preferences->Tablet) and restart Krita. It should help, because, most
probably, the driver of your tablet doesn't support WinTab properly.

Thanks for looking into this!

What's bugged me with this one is that I have the simplest possible setup!
(I always use the most standard setup to obtain the most stable system.)
My desktop system has one monitor, a DELL U2410F, using the built in graphics
of my 2500k processor.
I had to look up the word "panel", I take it this is the taskbar with the start
menu, the tray area and the representations of running applications.
It lives at its default position (at the bottom of the screen).

Perhaps there are some configuration files I could try to reset?

[krita] [Bug 447562] Issue with certain MyPaint brushes

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447562

Hi Jesus,

1. Slow Tracking/Polygonal line bug:
I'm working on the bug this morning.
I'll push the modifications of reducing the Slow Tracking of c)_Pencil2b and
d)_Ink_pen to 0.
It will fix the polygonal shapes when Mypaint engine is used in combination
with Krita stabilizer.

2. Dot at line entry/repeated diameter with stabilisation/speed issue:
I tried to investigate this issue but I couldn't reproduce it. Maybe works have
been done into the stabilizer and Speed inner clock system on Krita over the
last monthes. I tried with Stabilizer, Delay, check/uncheck the "Stabilize
sensor" too, and various strenght of stabilisation. I couldn't get the
repetitive pattern here. If you still can reproduce it after the future Krita
update, can you report it in a new bug report ticket? It will require to be
assigned to a skilled developper and sounds really specific to 'Speed' and
internal way to handle time in Krita. Maybe even related to the
device/operating system. Thanks!

* For boot splash screen (Grub2), translations remain "Écran de démarrage"
* For applications, using a splash screen, I propose keeping ""Écran de
démarrage" (grub may be considered as an appli)

I updated kcm_splashscreen.po supposing it is related to the graphical
connection screen, using "Écran de session". Modifications are commited.

Let me know, if that is acceptable or not, prior to close the report.
Cheers. Xavier

[KScreen] [Bug 442980] Plasma wayland session does not re-detect external monitor

2022-02-16 Thread Tim
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442980

This seems to be largely resolved with the update to KDE 5.24.1, Frameworks
5.91.0 and QT 5.15.2.

Plugging and replugging the external monitor works correctly. The monitor is
properly detected when plugged in, no matter if it's the first time after a
reboot or if it's already been unplugged and replugged.

There are problems with KDE/Wayland not respecting the primary monitor flag,
but that's a separate issue.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 450371] New: Notifications about video/audio being played on computer keep appearing when computer sleeps or becomes unreachable

2022-02-16 Thread Sergio
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450371

Bug ID: 450371
Summary: Notifications about video/audio being played on
computer keep appearing when computer sleeps or
becomes unreachable
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When the computer is playing a video or some audio (e.g. in a browser), a
notification appears on the connected android phone enabling its usage as a
remote.

Unfortunately, if the computer is put to sleep or becomes unreachable (e.g.,
because one pauses the playing, locks the computer and walks out with the
phone), the notification on the android phone becomes impossible to silence.
You cancel it and it keeps appearing forever.

The android application should watch when a connected computer becomes
unavailable and if there are notifications about it, accept that someone swipes
them away and stop visualizing them over and over.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect android phone and a computer
2. Play video on firefox on the computer
3. Pause the video on firefox
4. Walk away with the phone

OBSERVED RESULT

You get a notification on the phone about the video being played. If you swipe
it away it reappears. And reappears. And so on over and over until you kill kde
connect on the phone and restart it.

EXPECTED RESULT

The phone application should be happy when you swipe away the notification the
first time.

Fix issue with Mypaint presets when Slow Tracking interacts with Stabilizer

If a user activate Krita Stabilizer (or other smoothing option) in combination
with the Mypaint presets that use 'Slow Tracking' (Mypaint's built-in
smoothing/stabilizer),
the result is polygonal strokes. Removing 'Slow Tracking' (switching to 0)
delegate fully
stabilisation to Krita via tool option and prevents the polygonal lines.

with the Mypaint presets that use 'Slow Tracking' (Mypaint's built-in
smoothing/stabilizer),
the result is polygonal strokes. Removing 'Slow Tracking' (switching to 0)
delegate fully
stabilisation to Krita via tool option and prevents the polygonal lines.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446674

To support the proposal for fractional scaling, Qt applications need to be able
to change their scaling at runtime.

Scaling of applications is explained in
and . On Windows, the setting 'Per-Monitor
DPI Aware' seems close to what this proposal needs. The applications gets a
buffer corresponding the the actual pixels on the screen and also a scaling
factor at which the UI should be rendered.

A dynamic scale factor per window would be fantastic. There could be a 'zoom
resize' (shift + drag border) where the aspect ratio and layout would stay the
same, but the fonts and icons got larger or smaller.

I'm still not able to reproduce, I tried flatpak-portal-test-kde (as flatpak)
and it just works without any issue.

This is because I can see it calling "FileChooser::SaveFile" instead
"FileChooser::SaveFiles" which should request a directory. This is something I
will have to fix in Qt itself and possibly in xdg-desktop-portal-kde.

SUMMARY
***
When using application launcher with keyboard, it is impossible to activate
Sleep, Restart, Shutdown, or Leave items with Enter key. One has to press
"Space" key to activate them; pressing "Enter" key moves focus to the main area

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450375

The current situation is a bit confusing, basically what happens is that when
there are no explicit colours in the config file, the colours are generated
based on the current highlight colour. This usually happens when the chart is
shown for the first time, but may also happen in other situations.

I'd personally actually would want to make this a bit more explicit and have
the default behaviour be that it always generates based on the current colour.
This would actually mean the charts support setting accent colour. UI wise this
might be a bit tricky though, since we currently only have a small box for
colour selection.

[kwin] [Bug 450378] New: Per window scaling with shift-drag on window border

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist

  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

It would be nice to set a scaling factor per window. No other desktop supports
this but it could be very intuitive, like resizing pictures on a canvas.

Using shift-drag on window borders could be the way to change the scale factor.

Currently resizing windows, changes their layout. UI elements might appear or
get hidden. This can be frustrating. Also, some windows cannot deal with small
resolution screens which makes parts of the window inaccessible. In such cases,
doing shift-drag on the window border to zoom in or out would be a convenient
and intuitive way to adjust the window.

2022-02-16 Thread Nicolas Fella
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449828

This isn't about the bootloader at all.

With "system boot" I'm referring to a Plasma-specific configuration. If you
don't know whether that's active it's most likely not (unless you are on a
distro that opted into it like Fedora)

Related issues:

an accessibility feature.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446674 and
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/wayland-protocols/-/issues/47 discuss
how fractional scaling would improve crispiness and decrease graphical buffer
size on Wayland.

[kwin] [Bug 446078] Attaching/detaching external monitors with Wayland crashes apps/hides Plasma panel

2022-02-16 Thread Erlend Ydse
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446078

Still happens as of today on Plasma 5.24. Nothing in coredumpctl. No notable
logs
Conditions: Laptop is plugged into monitor on boot. Screens are configured to
disable laptop screen when monitor is plugged in.
Notable events: On successful login, the splash screen is present for longer
than if the monitor is not plugged in. I suspect a timeout triggers, and then
the desktop is shown with either a black wallpaper or the chosen wallpaper. No
panels are visible, and adding panels makes no difference. In some cases the
desktop does not display a menu on right click. Firefox is autostarted. Krunner
and System Settings work via shortcuts, and it is still possible to interact
with bluetooth, networks and audio via System Settings

[calligraplan] [Bug 449786] Total "Resource assignments" are wrong if the resources have different calendars and availability

2022-02-16 Thread Dag Andersen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449786

Yes, new functionality. Resource groups are now optional and it is possible to
assign resource to multiple groups.
They can thus be used for both skills based and organizational groups.

The resource group editor is not shown when you open a project created with
earlier versions (should probably handle that).
You can add it by open context menu in view selector and insert it.

The resource assignment view needs a redesign anyways, it is very cpu hungry
even with moderately large projects.
I suspect qt but I haven't looked into it yet.
