Building with gpgme was temporarily disabled in lunar 23.04, so as not to block
frameworks on the new gppme 1.18 stuck in the lunar proposed pocket. Will be
re-enabled when (hopefully soon) the issues preventing the new gpgme migrating
to the release pocket are solved.

kgpg requires depreciated gpgme-config script for cmake to find gpgme - causes
FTBFS on Deabin sid and Ubuntu 23.04

-- No usable gpgme flavors found.
CMake Error at cmake/FindGpgme.cmake:367 (message):
  Did not find GPGME
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  CMakeLists.txt:61 (find_package)
-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!

See:
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/gpgme/-/commit/fcd36b83bbe828726194e7b39203dc0af469

Quote: "The upstream buildsystem only installs gpgme-config if libgpg-error
ships gpg-error-config. libgpg-error 1.46-1 does not."

i.e. the combination of gpgme 1.18.0 built against the very latest libgpg-error
1.46 results in the gpgme-config script kgpg currently requires not being
present, so kgpg fails to build.

As gpgme-config script can no longer reliably be counted on to exist, the
cmake/FindGpgme.cmake in kgpg source must be adapted so to not rely on this
script.

[Discover] [Bug 466765] New: with 5.27.2 discover home tab never loads at startup or when selected

2023-03-03 Thread Rik Mills
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466765

Bug ID: 466765
Summary: with 5.27.2 discover home tab never loads at startup
or when selected
Classification: Applications
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.27.2
  Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: rikmi...@kde.org
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

In Kubuntu and Lubuntu/UbuntuStudio 23.04 (which both ship discover), 5.27.2
discover 'home' tab never loads at startup, or when re-selected after viewing
another tab.

Additionally, while discover is both the foreground application and the home
tab is active, discover process uses a high cpu load. Selecting another tab or
another app as foreground cuts off the usage.

Downstream bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-discover/+bug/2008968

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run the daily live 23.04 ISO from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/ and start discover; or
2. Install discover 5.27.2 on 22.10 via ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8
Packagekit: 1.2.6-3 (direct sync from debian testing/unstable)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Appears to be a regression introduced by commit
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/discover/-/commit/5dadd14ff12b8a6afae2c557d5948c5c66e1898c

This was confirmed by git bisect of the changes in 5.27.2 since 5.27.1, and
confirmed by test adding a patch reverting that commit to our packaging.

Konsole output after several launches:

lunar@lunar:~$ plasma-discover
fetch ratings! false
adding empty sources model QStandardItemModel(0x56409f738490)
no component found for "com.ubuntu.ubuntu"
packagekitqt.transaction: Unknown Transaction property: "Sender"

packagekitqt.transaction: Unknown Transaction property: "Sender"
QVariant(QString, ":1.94")
packagekitqt.transaction: Unknown Transaction property: "Sender"
QVariant(QString, ":1.94")

which does not differ from 5.27.1 or the reverted state as far as I can see.
Though there is some variation on output from testers.

2023-07-10 Thread Rik Mills
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472145

Bug ID: 472145

via packagelkit
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: kdenetwork-filesharing
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon

1. Install kdenetwork-filesharing
2. In dolphin right click a folder you wish to share, and click properties.

[plasmashell] [Bug 363337] New: Recent docs/history shortcuts in kicker/kickoff fail when clicked with "Could not find any application or handler..." error

2016-05-20 Thread Rik Mills via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363337

Bug ID: 363337
Summary: Recent docs/history shortcuts in kicker/kickoff fail
when clicked with "Could not find any application or
handler..." error
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: unspecified
   URL: http://i.imgur.com/twoUpUZ.png
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Menu (Kicker)
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: rik.mill...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

Recent docs/history shortcuts in kicker/kickoff fail when clicked with "Could
not find any application or handler..." for the file; error in a plasma error
popup (see url link).

Seems to be associated with running plasma with latest frameworks 5.22. Testing
with previous frameworks 5.21 with same plasma version does not produce the
error.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install plasma 5.6.4 or above with frameworks v 5.22
2. Activate kicker/kickoff menu and navigate to history/recent document lists
3. Click desired recent item of ANY type

Actual Results:
Error "Could not find any application or handler..." for the file, in a plasma
error popup (see url link)

Expected Results:
Should launch application for file association, and load recent document.

Tested on.

With bug occurring:
- kubuntu plasma 5.6.4 backport testing packages with frameworks 5.22
- kde-neon user and dev editions with plasma 5.6.4 and 5.6.90, and frameworks
5.22
- archlinux plasma 5.6.4, with frameworks 5.22 from their 'testing' repo

Without bug occurring:
- archlinux plasma 5.6.4 with frameworks 5.21

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363337

Reverting this diff and rebuilding kio seems to fix the problem.

https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kio.git=blobdiff=ec1b4bdeecf2cff58765ae5edb3d8ec6a4a7c972=b9b232dc80e9fa9b47f65203aa72b52280124fc1=2e6980e9ba3b91798dad0db9f9d78317b2d7e4a2=src%2Fwidgets%2Fkrun.cpp

Clicking on recent/history items now opens them in the associated application.

Not sure if it breaks anything else intended with the commit

https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kio.git=commitdiff=2e6980e9ba3b91798dad0db9f9d78317b2d7e4a2

or if that should be retained or modified, and problem fixed from another
angle.

Previously, Chakra with plasma 5.6.3 and frameworks 5.21 was unaffected, as
should be the case if a FW 5.21 problem.

After:

upgrade to plasma 5.6.4 and frameworks 5.22,

can confirm Chakra also shows this bug.
