kcm-grub2 on kf5

2018-05-14 Thread Alexander Volkov

Hi all,

I've ported kcm-grub2 to kf5:
https://cgit.kde.org/kcm-grub2.git/log/?h=frameworks

(frameworks branch).
Reviewers and testers are welcome.

And the question is which version to use for the project?
I.e. whether it should be a standalone project or a part of Plasma?

Cheers,
Alexander.

Jonathan's answer says everything, the tl;dr version is: it's up to you.
Right now kcm-grub2 is an application with its own release cycle (what was
knows as "extragear").

Did you contact the old maintainer just to check if he is still interested
with helping?

Thanks for the help.
I just sent him an email.
Unfortunately, I did not notice that there is a kf5 fork of kcm-grub2:
https://github.com/maz-1/grub2-editor
Now the question is which one is preferable?

Sorry for resurrecting this old discussion, but it looks like both versions
(our on git.kde.org and the fork) haven't moved forward in the meantime.

Alexander, have you contacted the maintainer of the fork? Are you still
interested in working on kcm-grub2?

I think that we should at least merge the frameworks branch into master; I
will do it in the next days, unless anyone objects.

Ciao

Hi,

I sent him an email, but he didn't reply to it.
And there was no activity in the fork for 11 months:
https://github.com/maz-1/grub2-editor/commits/master

I'm going to fix some bugs in kcm-grub2, but currently I don't have time
for this.

BR,
Alexander
