H. Kossebau --- Git commit c1267491deaf1d29b48d28076e9c61498785d9b8 by Friedrich W. H. Kossebau. Committed on 06/04/2024 at 13:47. Pushed by kossebau into branch 'master'. Unbreak endless invocation loop with "info" pages QWebEngine was handling info: urls as something to invoke an external handler for. Which... is khelpcenter itself. So instead of opening the page, there would be an endless invocation loop. [khelpcenter] [Bug 484977] The KHelpcenter takes focus and it is impossible to close
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484977 --- Comment #6 from Friedrich W. H. Kossebau --- > there kill a bunch of processes generated by KHelpcenter And this killing gave the very crashlog you reported initially, right? In that case then the linked MR/patch should fix things also for what you experienced :) Will land soonish today, also to the current release branch, where the fix should the arrive with end users with upcoming KDE Gear 24.02.2, to be released on April 11, 2024. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484977 Friedrich W. H. Kossebau changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kosse...@kde.org --- Comment #4 from Friedrich W. H. Kossebau --- Hi. How was the crash and thus the given crashlog actually triggered, by killing from the commandline (how exactly?) or waiting some time? Ran into a similar phenomenon of info pages not loading and khelpcenter getting unusable. Found this was due to eternal invocation loop, for which https://invent.kde.org/system/khelpcenter/-/merge_requests/43 has been done to solve this. So might be also the actual bug you experience here? The crash reported though might be some other cause still, thus above questions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Remove docs for telnet scheme-handler In khelpcenter only shown in "Application Manuals/Lost & Found" section, as the installation to kioslave5 subdir does not result in the potentially expected listing in the "KIO workers" section (which also would not be that correct). D29797: [RAW PATCH] Unbreak generation with dep diagrams with Python 3 (& break P2 :) )
kossebau added a comment. Patch worked fine also on real server run the last two nights. So going to push later today once at my respective development setup. Will push as is, given safe_load() is now also used without any conditions for the new invent.kde.org git helper :) so doing as the real Python developers do. D29797: [RAW PATCH] Unbreak generation with dep diagrams with Python 3 (& break P2 :) )
kossebau added a comment. Bah, I patched the wrong kapidox on the server, so last nights run still failed. Oh well... not sure I will have time in the evening for processing this patch, but at least now getting the diff applied also on the right kapidox, so next server check tomorrow. D29797: [RAW PATCH] Unbreak generation with dep diagrams with Python 3 (& break P2 :) )
kossebau added a comment. I just applied the diff as-is to the working checkout of kapidox on the server, to see if the patch also works for the setup of the nightly run, other than my separate testing which might have missed any special environment setup. So tomorrow before noon CEST we should have proof this patch catches all issues. So no immediate pressure to get this patch out ASAP to also get api.kde.org running again :) Thanks for the additional replies, will look with attention tomorrow, afk this evening now. D29797: [RAW PATCH] Unbreak generation with dep diagrams with Python 3 (& break P2 :) )
kossebau added a comment. Thanks for the (first) review :) Open questions I have are these: a) how to properly check for the presence of the yaml.safe_load() method? and whether to support a fallback to load() otherwise? It was only introduced at a certain version of pyyaml b) by supposedly breaking support for Python 2, how to properly catch any usage of python2 now?
