You could use
http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qcoreapplication.html#Q_COREAPP_STARTUP_FUNCTION + a
queued method invocation to make sure `QApplication` was fully constructed.

Correct, just pushed the required change.

Hi Luigi,
These are KProperty and KReport frameworks, in Playground/Libs/ since
this night.

Good question regarding the i18n.
Both have UIs that have visible i18n in apps that use these frameworks.

The former has moved to the Qt translation tools and the code won't be
changed too much before the 1st release, for the latter it's planned
to use the Qt translation tools and there will be massive renames and
porting.

Existing translations sit within Calligra (2.9, .po files seems to be
well separated).

 Hi Luigi,
These are KProperty and KReport frameworks, in Playground/Libs/ since
 this night.

Thanks; for now I made them extract into our trunk/kf5 branch.
But that the extraction wouldn't work for now, as in both cases there is a
 call to:
 source $srcdir/../../calligra_xgettext.sh
so I temporarily disabled the extraction.

Predicate seems to be still kdelibs4 based, is it correct?

The kdelibs4 version won't be released/maintained (unless someone
invests in it).

The final repo will have Qt5 version only, at some stage is worked
already, some cmake cleanups are needed and perhaps the mentioned
renames.

What was the purpose of that file, something that can't be done with the
existing scripts? (I have the feeling that maybe we already talked about
 this).

It's a helper from calligra.git, won't be used in the extracted repos.
Thanks.

For now I have the following question.

We have a framework called Predicate, for (data)base
connectivity/creation, a kind of QtSql on steroids, is in development
and use since 2003. First presented in Malaga (as KexiDB).

 https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/libs/predicate

I came to a conclusion that the Predicate name feels a bit hacky and
does not explain the purpose of the framework. It also does not help
that the predicate noun is used elsewhere quite a bit.

So how about renaming to KDb?

I like how many parts of the KF5 have clear names, and realized KDb
seems to be available [1], forms a short prefix and it's meaning is
rather clear. Its length suitable for use as a prefix for class names.

So the change in real code could be like this:
   Predicate::Connection == KDbConnection.

 Thanks!

I don't really would have a problem. It's in playground and that's why
we have playground for, trying things and breaking things. If all
people working on it are fine with the rename [1], then you can just
do it. :)

Renaming the Predicate framework to KDb?

2015-04-08 Thread Jaroslaw Staniek
Dear All,
As a part of the process of porting Kexi to Qt5/KF5, three frameworks
have been extracted to separate repos. More about that in some
announcement (ask me for details if you cannot wait).

  Predicate::Connection == KDbConnection.

Thanks!

[1] The kdb project does not seem to be active:

Help please with some builds in the new jenkins-ci for KDE Cont..

2015-04-08 Thread Scarlett Clark
Hello all,
I am to the point now with my ci that I just need help with some of
these builds. While I am learning fast,
some of these failures are stumpers.

I have been fighting with kaccounts-integration much to long. I did finally
get it to find all its dependencies, including akonadi kf5, however...

compile failure:
19:56:27 In file included from /home/jenkins/builds/kaccounts-
integration/tests/testakonadiaccounts.cpp:19:0:

AkonadiCore/Attribute: No such file or directory
19:56:27 #include AkonadiCore/Attribute
19:56:27 ^
19:56:27 compilation terminated.

I tried:
configureExtraArgs=-I{instPrefix}/include/KF5
and
configureExtraArgs=-I{instPrefix}/include/KF5/AkonadiCore

failures on both, even if it did work, defining all the includes seems clunky,
surely there is a magic answer here.
Please be patient with me as most of this is a huge learning experience for
me..

More coming as I work all this out..

Ok, I fixed packagekit via ppa. So apper builds now, but I am not sure what
is going on with the install:

qt5/extragear/sysadmin/apper/inst failed: No such file or directory (2)
 21:16:58

Is that correct only one file? and then removing it ? Help.. please.

I've no idea if it should install more files or not, but it's not removing it,
it's removing the runtime path i.e. the rpath.

Apper is installing it's files in the incorrect place it seems.
This sort of error only occurs when a project either:

a) Installs nothing
b) Disregards CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX and tries to place it's files somewhere else.

I suspect Apper may only be partially ported to KF5 though based on
the installation of only libapper.so which might explain the above.

 Cheers,
   Albert

Ben

Akonadi is only optional in kaccounts-integration and given the current
 status
of KF5 Akonadi (unreleased with no plans), I would just not bother with
 trying
 fix this particular issue.

This means that Akonadi's CMake code needs improvement. I'd recommend
the PIM developers take a look at how the Frameworks do it.

In terms of kaccounts-integration, removing the Akonadi dependency
will resolve that temporarily.

Please ensure kde-build-metadata is updated to reflect that
kde-runtime does not have a kf5-qt5 / stable-kf5-qt5 entry anymore.

libkface - I finally got opencv + opencv-contrib modules to build, which got
rid of some missing opencv module errors, but now a pile of:

This goes on for several. Looking at opencv the file does not exist at all.
 We
have to use master to achieve a qt5 build... so I am at a loss here.
This another one I have been fighting with too long...

 Hi Luigi,
These are KProperty and KReport frameworks, in Playground/Libs/ since

What was the purpose of that file, something that can't be done with the
existing scripts? (I have the feeling that maybe we already talked about this).
