2013-10-15 Thread Raphael Kubo da Costa
SVN commit 9624 by rakuco:

Set DESTDIRNAME for some PyQt ports.

They were failing to build properly with staging support.

In short, a few releases ago the PyQt-related ports (SIP, PyQt, QScintilla)
started switching to a new configuration script that replaces the old one.
In some cases, we also switched our Makefiles, while in others we kept using
the new configure-old.py scripts.

I have not fully investigated the differences between the new and old
configuration scripts, but the .pro files and Makefiles generated by the old
scripts used DESTDIR, while the ones generated by the new scripts use
INSTALL_ROOT.

As I said in the TODOs added in the comments, once we move all the PyQt
ports to the new configuration scripts, we can move the DESTDIRNAME
definition to bsd.pyqt.mk itself.

[kde-freebsd] QT / KDE issue with jpegs?

2013-10-15 Thread Kris Moore

A few weeks back, around the time STAGEDIR went into the ports tree, we
started seeing issues with KDE / QT being unable to render JPEGs in
certain places. Mainly it shows up as any jpeg wallpapers showing up
black with a size 0x0 when you try to set them in KDE. In addition some
QT apps (such as designer-qt4) also can't show jpegs.. When I look into
the kdecache dirs, I can see the "converted" jpeg -> png files, and they
are all black.

/var/tmp/kdecache-kris/plasma-wallpapers/usr/local/share/wallpapers/Aghi/contents/images/1920x1080.jpg_#00_0_1920x1080.png

Nothing has changed really in our build options, we've just been
updating our PKGNG repo to stay in sync with ports. In addition the
apps show NO error messages that I can find, it just doesn't show the
jpeg :(

Has anybody else rebuilt their ports tree on 9.2 in the past few weeks
and run into this?

This is on 9.2-RELEASE / amd64 and it seems to be affecting all users of
our repo.

Oh yes you are wrong, there is a distinction between c++11-lang and c++11-lib on
purpose.

Clang33 from ports and base uses libstdc++ from gcc 4.2 for all but freebsd 10.
but clang33 has c++11 langague support meaning it knows how to parse c++11
keywords.

But some ports requires a c++11 library may it be libstdc++ from a newer gcc or
libc++, that is what c++11-lib is for.

We have to limit the number of compilers we do support, and given the different
possible options people can have: CLANG_IS_CC WITHOUT_CLANG WITHOUT_GCC it would
be a nightmare to support all combinaison.

So the ports tree only tests ${CC} and if it is failing fallback on a port
because we know the port do exists. Therefore clang33 is installed on FreeBSD
9.2 even if base has clang 3.3.

If a user want to use clang from base in freebsd 9.2 he will have to manually
setup CC=clang and CXX=clang++ and CPP=clang-cpp in his make.conf in that case
compiler.mk will not pick up clang from ports.

Now if one is willing to add support for finding clang in base, then patches
welcome.

I can review but I do not have time to write any patches now.

Bapt
