kdenlive 5 do not follow the previous profiles
Hello, just a note to say that the new kdenlive 5 (appimage) do not keep the previous profiles setup. It is a problem only because I didn't notice at first the problem (and only noticed the extravagant file size later), because it's pretty easy to build a new profile... I used to have my own render profile (essentially mp4, 12.000kb video and 192kb audio). This give me reasonable size/quality. The same profile in kdenlive gives me very big files the text file is not deleted, so I have the kdelinve 5 commandline: Started render process: /tmp/.mount_ySWWXL/usr/bin/melt /tmp/kdenlive_rendering_m12771.mlt.mlt -profile atsc_1080p_25 -consumer avformat:/home/jdd/data-ssd480/multimedia/retouches/Videos/2016/20161109-wop-rotary/20161109-wop-rotary-06.mp4 progress=1 properties=x264-medium preset=veryfast crf=0 ab=0k threads=1 real_time=-1 mediainfo says: Duration : 6 min 9 s Bit rate : *127* Mb/s if I get it well my prifile is: name="jdd" qualities="20" defaultquality="20"/> defaultaudiobitrate="192" extension="mp4" name="Vertical" qualities="20" defaultquality="20"/> defaultaudiobitrate="192" extension="mp4" thanks jdd
kde appimage (or equivalent) for Windows
Hello, I see on the download page: "Windows As a result of Google’s Summer of Code 2016, experimental Windows build should hopefully be available before the end of 2016." as install kdenlive on windows is wished by many and very difficult nowaday, what is the status of this part of the project? appimage or similar self contained format is very friendly, because it allows easily to cope with the kedenlive team work and if necessary report bugs, when doing so with standard distro is difficult and nearly impossible on windows kdenlive rocks :-) thanks jdd
Ethic Cinema
Hello, My name is François Téchené. I am co-founder of Ethic Cinema (http://ethiccinema.org/), which is a non profit organization that makes and promotes free/libre cinematographic art. Ethic Cinema is also a concept that anyone can reuse. Its goal is to study and promote more ethical business models in the film industry. This organization is still very young. We have just been releasing our very first video and I wanted to share it with you : https://goblinrefuge.com/mediagoblin/u/ethiccinema/m/street-art-sessions/ We use Kdenlive as our main video editing software and we love it! This video has been edited with Kdenlive. Only advanced rotating transitions have been made with Blender. The video has been released under the Art Libre license which is compatible with the CC BY-SA license so you get the freedoms! I am also director of creative at Purism and I will be representing them at "Le Capitole du Libre" next week. I will be there both days on a stand for everyone to see and try the Librem13 laptop that we make. So if you are around, feel free to come and say hello! :) I wish you a very good week end and keep up the good work! :) François Téchené
