Hi, Its ok for me. We can do it before 17.12. Re: Bug Squashing Day #2
>From what I can see from a shallow inspection, we currently have a lot of bugs related to the timeline, its tools or the corruptions (speed effect and so on). These bugs can probably be ignored, at least for now, because they will probably go away when the new timeline ships (I doubt the new timeline will be bug-free, but it'll probably be different bugs) Then we have a handful of bugs related to AppImage or Windows, these are a bit special, maybe not extremely high priority. What remains are either feature requests, that may or may not be interesting for us (the one Farid mentions is obviously too niche), and «real» bugs. So, in my opinion, to have an efficient bug squashing day, we would need a clear vision of those «real» bugs, that we can reproduce and that are not related to the timeline. Re: Bug Squashing Day #2
Vincent and all, The tracker is getting crazy with the ammount of bugs being posted. We are the project with most bug reports after Krita in all of KDE. I propose we also do a tracker cleaning during this day. We can lower the ammount of bugs drastically by simply analizing many and closing if we wont fix. I am talikng about stuff like this: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362573 We should also discuss and set a guideline for the maximum number of allowed bugs in the tracker to help us maintain the sanity of the environment. Take care! 2017-02-03 4:24 GMT-02:00 Vincent Pinon : > Started the poll... even for today! > > https://framadate.org/KdenliveBugSquashingDay2 > "Let's meet on IRC, decide on which bugs everyone works, discuss the > problems & solutions, and reduce our bug count!" > > Welcome to participate, the idea is also to help newcomers to setup a dev > environment! > > See you, > > Vincent > > PS: sorry but I'm not much available this month... > -- .1010.r.i.1101|n.o.i.s.1110|i.m.1010.g.1110|مقاومة fsf member #5439 usuario GNU/Linux #471966 |_|0|_| |_|_|0| |0|0|0| http://www.gunga.com.br";>gunga http://www.tempoecoarte.com.br";>tempoecoarte http://www.atelier-labs.org";>atelier-labs http://www.mocambos.net";>rede mocambos
Bug Squashing Day #2
Started the poll... even for today! https://framadate.org/KdenliveBugSquashingDay2 "Let's meet on IRC, decide on which bugs everyone works, discuss the problems & solutions, and reduce our bug count!" Welcome to participate, the idea is also to help newcomers to setup a dev environment! See you, Vincent PS: sorry but I'm not much available this month...
Re: Preparing for bug-squashing day and low hanging bugs
I agree with Farid. I don't think it's a bad thing if we mark "wontfix", "invalid", etc. on wishlist requests -- even with a brief explanation if you feel led (e.g. "We're not deciding to take this route right now, but thanks for your feedback.", something like that). For someone like me, if an idea is "up in the air", and I believe in it, I'll continue to encourage it; but if there's an answer letting me know this will be accepted/committed or rejected/wontfix, then at least I know where you direct my energies, you know? Just an encouragement. I have already tagged some as "low-hanging" and most are uncorfimed reports. It would be great to have a look at these and close the wont fix/invalid ones: (this will bring some sanity to the tracker and help us organize better for the bug-squashing day.) https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=product%3Akdenlive%20severity%3Awishlist&list_id=1397036 Here are some of the low hanging bugs I have tagged: https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=product%3Akdenlive%20flag%3Alow_hanging&list_id=1397059 Since I might not understand the complexity of some, please fill free to add or remove the flags as necessary. Enjoy your weekend Cheers
