Re: Latest kdenlive
Hi Mettavihari, So as Vincent said use the AppImage for now at least until next LTS in case you will upgrade. Next thursday (December 12) will be the release of 19.12. One thing to note, you are using the 15.x version which is very different from the post code refactoring 19.x series. So I would personally recommend to only start new projects with this new version. Let us know how the upgrade goes. Re: Latest kdenlive
Hello, We have a PPA to allow upgrading Kdenlive on Ubuntu easily... However, we couldn't support LTS anymore after the refactoring: the new QML UI requires Qt >= 5.11, while bionic is at Qt 5.9. Next LTS will be 20.04, only few months to wait ;) In that case, we recommend to use the AppImage you can download on our website, it contains all required libraries without affecting your system, and it is very well tested (the reference we recommend to every user wanting to follow our updates). Cheers and happy editing! Vincent Le jeudi 5 décembre 2019, 14:34:39 CET Mettavihari D a écrit : Greetings We have been using kdenlive on our production during the last 4-5 years. We use the kdenlive in a production environment on about 20 PCs all running Ubuntu LTS and would like to have a somewhat stable version. We are, along with that, also happy to compile the occasional test version if the community needs it. We regularly build our own ffmpeg version Regards Mettavihari

[Kdenlive-devel] latest kdenlive test report
SVN sources from today http://www.kdenlive.org/bbforum/viewtopic.php?f=8t=68 ..build script used Results: Section rendering - OK again! Minor glitch: Very short mpeg2/vob video clips (1s) are playable but not loadable by Avidemux, AVI is fine. Interesting. Avidemux bug finally? ;) Not a single crash experienced yet! Even when swithing and creating projects. Good work! Well, will test more :) !! Bug in clip preview: Clip preview is not working when project is stored and loaded again. Hmm, seems to clip duration shrinks to 0:00:00 for any clip from previewer perspective. http://www.kdenlive.org/bbforum/viewtopic.php?f=16t=71 Minor bug - suggested ffmpeg parameters are not enough. I used more ffmpeg configure options as you can see in: http://www.kdenlive.org/bbforum/viewtopic.php?f=8t=68 The suggested on wiki are not enough, may audio codes will not be recognize, most notably mp3 an ac3 ! New MLT features like motion estimation and dtc not tested. Cheers Jan
