Summary: kmail IMAP connector fails to work. Repetitive restarts
of the program are needed to access mail.
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: xlastovi03 quick cz

Version:(using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from:SuSE RPMs
OS:Linux

My IMAP setup works some time after I start kmail (via kontact). But after a
while not using the mail, kmail hangs somewhere during periodic check of mail.
The progress indicator is stuck with some number, which is sometimes negative!
(often -1%). Which is worse that the stuck operation cannot be aborted by
clicking on the close button of the progress dialog. It then just says
"aborting" forever.
I think the problem might be caused because of my wifi connection to net,
which is not too reliable. But TCP layer and kmail should cope with that.
The severity could be crash because it is needed to restart program to work
again.

Hello,
today I saw that one mail in inbox was received twice. One of the two mails
failed to display so I wanted to deleted. -> crash
The mail is displayed in the inbox as new, unread with two question marks
before name in the list. The account is POP3.
Unfortunately I cannot send you the mail because Save as function does not
work on that mail.
Also please note, my KDE is version 3.5.9 but I currently use kdepim3 version
3.5.7. But this shouldn't be a problem.

Here is the backtrace:

Same thing on Debian lenny with KDE 3.5.9 and KMail 1.9.9.
It has nothing to do with rc-files. Even a new user (first KDE start) has only
the "Reset Quick Search" button...

my setup does't eat the cpu, it just stops responding (application isn't even
painted).

my regular kmail startup involves:
$ kmail
// i access something that involves access from KDE Resource (say open email
and it lookups email address from addressbook)
$ killall -v kmail
$ killall -v kmail
// i enter wallet password
// kontact appears up (i din't start it!!), but luckily from it i can read mail
as it has kmail_part inside.

[Bug 102924] Creating hyperlinks in composer

Hi,

I've still got some work I want to do with this. The icon is out of my hands
but requested on:
http://techbase.kde.org/index.php?title=Projects/Oxygen/Missing_Icons

I notice you put it on another icon page too on techbase. Thanks for that.

I'll look into the HTML mode -> text mode thing. I was thinking about that
during the week, so it should be fixable quite nicely.

There's also a bug when removing the link that the link formatting is not
removed, but I have an idea of a workaround for that.

Cheers,

Steve.

[Bug 160575] New: "View Source" displays mail body parts like mail header element

  Severity: wishlist

Version:(using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from:SuSE RPMs
OS:Linux

If the mail body (text/plain) or parts of a multipart mail consists of lines
with header-like formatted content, eg.

Note: foo bar

the "Note:" part is displayed like email headers (bold) when using the "View
Source" option.

Most likely, this behavior is because in case of mime/multipart mails, this is
an easy way to highlight Content-Type related headers of all mime parts.
Unfortunately, mail bodys consisting of phrases like
CEO: Wilbert E. Smith
and the like are rather common.

The problem is also (?) that there is not such category as "new message" (only
reply, forward) -- those are distinct templates since %QUOTE (for example) does
not make sense in "new message".

Hi!
I've just tested the new "link" feature. It is working right.
There are only two small issues. One is about the Icon which actually is not
set. The second is about switching from HTML mode to plain text. Doing that the
URL is lost. Shouldn't be converted in plain text?
