i want that feature too, but i want to be able to trigger it in the controls...
but it would be really very useful. and technically it is no problem...

[Bug 170021] New: Listing of smtp servers behaves strangely

2008-08-28 Thread Andreas KalvÄ
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170021

Summary: Listing of smtp servers behaves strangely
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.10.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version: 1.10.0 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Compiler: gcc the packages are provided by kdemod.ath, x86_64
OS:Linux
Installed from:Unlisted Binary Package

I have to smtp servers I regularly use. I call them "NTNU" and "Samfundet"

When pressing the "Sending" tab, they are listed as:
Samfundet
NTNU
Clicking on any of them, they swap places (the actual bug) to:
NTNU
Samfundet

As I'm writing this, I decided to add gmail as well. The same strange swapping
still takes place.

[Bug 170020] New: Sending mail to a distribution list does not send mail to the members on that list

Version: 1.10.0 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Compiler: gcc the packages are provided by kdemod.ath.cx. x86_64
OS:Linux
Installed from:Unlisted Binary Package

Sending a mail to a distribution list from the contacts fails. It seems that
instead of sending mail to the addresses on the list it tries to send mail to
the name of the distribution list.

The following error is provided from the mail delivery system:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Unrouteable address

Openmoko is the name I've given my distribution list and z0m6 is the hostname
I've given my computer (nevermind my naming scheme)

I also seem to be unable to specify an empty "Default domain" as a workaround,
though this isn't a good solution.

I just thought about my previous statement and realized that I hope the "Don't
show anniversaries or Birthdays" functionality isn't just based on simply
finding a keyword like "Birthday" because this might then not show evens such
as Birthday party which would still need to be shown.

4.1 doesn't have attachments in headers at all I think, right?

Seems like I fixed this in r851797 by accident actually.

As a workaround reversing the relevant code in kmmessage.cpp not to use the
rawheader, I got KMail working again. Remains the question, which email
triggered the bug. Highly likely is an email in my spam folder, so if anyone is
interested, I'm fine to tar up my spam emails from today and make them
available.

[Bug 169909] Allow user to choose which Calendars to display in KSummary

--- Comment #2 from Stephen Ostrow 2008-08-28

I'm not entirely sure how you'll know it's a birthday or anniversary accept by
looking for those words in the keywords. But if you're able to do that I would
say that would close this as a "bug". However, I still think it would be a
great feature for to be able to choose what calendars display on the summary
page.

With more and more sites releasing rss feeds of events which can be used as a
calendar I might want to display a sports teams games on my calendar without
having it crowd my upcomming events summary page which I use to check what's
next all day long.

So I guess this should be changed to a feature request though.

First a short question: Is it a new way to piss of users to not let them post
crash reports against the latest KDE 3.5 version or is this just an error?

This bug is new since 3.5.10 and KMail crashes always when it starts to fetch
emails, so it's not usable here.

http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=800206 will be the problem, I guess.

[Bug 169989] New: no fixed mail body font

2008-08-28 Thread Adrian von Bidder
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169989

Summary: no fixed mail body font
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version:(using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

The "Use fixed font" option in kmail doesn't currently work (Debian kmail
4:4.1.0-2 from experimental).

The cursor flickers briefly so apparently the mail is re-displayed, however
with the exact same font.

(I do have "DejaVu Sans Mono" selected as the fixed width font in the system.)

cheers

[Bug 169909] Allow user to choose which Calendars to display in KSummary

Kontact in KDE 4.2 will have an option to not show birthdays and anniversaries
in the Upcoming Events summary.

Is that enough to close this bug? Or do you still want to configure which
calendar resources to show in the summary?

When spellchecking in composer window kmail crashes. Kmail also crashes when

it off?)

[Bug 161844] folder mis-sorted, messages not shown

2008-08-28 Thread Andras Georgy Bekes
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161844

--- Comment #6 from Andras Georgy Bekes 2008-08-28

Since I sent the backtrace, every time kmail crashes again I check whether it's
the same as what I sent. I checked like 4 or 5 such backtraces and it is always
exactly the same (file names and line numbers match).

The crash always happens after the folder gets mis-sorted and I switch to
another folder and back. If I quit kmail after the folder gets screwed up and
delete
~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap/.$WHEIRD_NUMBER.directory/.$FOLDERNAME.index.*
files, everything works again.

Have encountered this too, it's very annoying.

The suggestion "have a null item at the bottom of the menu" would look odd and
may not even be technically possible. Maybe a better solution would be to do
as Akregator does - have a "Confirm quit from system tray" dialogue with the
usual "Do not ask again" checkbox.
