[Bug 170299] New: Connected to a network is not necessarily the same as being connected to the internet

2008-09-03 Thread Kishore
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170299

Summary: Connected to a network is not necessarily the same as
being connected to the internet
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version:   unknown (using 4.1.64 (KDE 4.1.64 (KDE 4.2 >= 20080828)),
compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24-21-generic

This is perhaps and global KDE thing but it is kontact that is the most
annoying in the situation.

The basic assumption is that when we are connected to a network, it is a
gateway to the internet. This may not be always true. At work, this network in
only an intranet. KMail in this situation attempts to download mail but fails
and gives me annoying error messages.

Yet i think it cannot be assumed that if its not on the internet, kmail should
not attempt to connect as the mail server could be on the intranet.

Hence i thin kmail should attempt to connect to server and stay quite if the
server is not reachable in the first place and complain only when there is a
failure after having found the server.

untick the "use default identity", pick another identity, accept changes. click
on the reply button in the toolbar --> crash.

For me this is reproduceable, if you can't I'll try to supply a useful
backtrace.

[Bug 170321] New: strange behavoiur of column selector (right click on columns header)

2008-09-03 Thread rob
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170321

Summary: strange behavoiur of column selector (right click on
columns header)
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version:(using KDE 4.1.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

To reproduce: right-click on the columns header of, for example, the feeds
window (Title, Feed, Date...).
The "View Columns" popup appear. Now if one tries to add/remove colums (for
example Author), not always this works. Mostly of the times they get removed
but not added. Moreover sometimes the popup do not disappear after clicking
outside; 4-10 clicks (or Esc keystrokes) are necessary to make the popoup
disappear. I have found this strange behaviour particularly in the mail and
feed sections of kontact. No problems with (for example) konqueror, meaning an
application level bug, and not kdelib side.

[Bug 131434] SIGSEV when searching for duplicate messages

--- Comment #2 from Oliver Putz 2008-09-03 16:46:34 ---
I think I just ran into this bug. When I fetched some mails, my personal IMAP
server had some hickups so that it fetched several mails multiple times. When I
browsed a folder in KMail, I saw all the duplicates and used "Folder->Remove
Duplicate Messages" to remove the dulplicates on the IMAP server. This seemed
to remove some duplicates, but not all. So I (shortly after) used that function
again. Right after this, Kontact from KDE-3.5.9 crashed (maybe it tried to
delete some already deleted message?) with the following backtrace:

[Bug 170337] New: kontact crash on mail with iCalendar attachment

2008-09-03 Thread Doualot Nicolas
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170337

Summary: kontact crash on mail with iCalendar attachment
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version:(using KDE 4.1.1)
Compiler: gcc version 4.3.2 (GCC) Target: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
Configured with: ../configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared
--enable-languages=c,c++,fortran,objc,obj-c++,treelang --enable-threads=posix
--mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --enable-__cxa_atexit
--disable-multilib --libdir=/usr/lib --libexecdir=/usr/lib --enable-clocale=gnu
--disable-libstdcxx-pch --with-tune=generic Thread model: posix
OS:Linux
Installed from:Unlisted Binary Package

When trying to display a mail with an attached iCalendar event (google calendar
invitation, or invitation send from kontact/korganizer), kontact krash.

The mail seems to be displyed just before the app crash.

I'm using archlinux, and recompiled the kdepim packages simplify modifying-it
to include debugging informations.

Here is the backtrace I get:

Confirmed also with the new message list.

Szymon, we need these config options to work somehow.
Maybe automatically changing the current skin when those config options change?

[Bug 170352] New: custom font in message list ignored by date column

Settings a custom font for the message list works for all columns except the
date column.

And the localization of the date does not work, too (I have a german
environment and the date is presented in english form)

See http://linuxcc.de/kde-bugs/kontact/shot18.png

--- Comment #1 from dmoyne 2008-09-04 01:47:34 ---
Sorry ProcMail needs be installed (just for this option) ; I installed it and
it works ; so apparently sendmail does not include the same option ; maybe
addition of this option linked only to Procmail should be proposed only if
ProcMail is installed.
