As you are using Gentoo, can you rebuild with debugging symbols enabled? That
would certainly help the devs to pinpoint the issue.

Do you have 'remember password' enabled in your account settings? I had a
similar issue, just vice versa, so that might be the cause.

now this is interesting/confusing: on a different computer but with same
versions of kmail, kde, and linux, the not quoting problem does NOT appear. I
use YAST to install the packages and resolve dependencies.

ok, found the culprit. It was the setting in the composer/standard templates
that was set to BLANK (for reasons unclear to me).

[Bug 165453] Pre-commands are broken

--- Comment #12 from auxsvr yahoo com 2008-10-17 10:30:03 ---
It has crashed again twice so far with a similar backtrace, I think that
running a precommand and clicking with the mouse in akregator, for example,
triggers this, though not reliably.

[Bug 173016] New: cancel of subscriptions are not processed with disconnected imap

2008-10-17 Thread Michael Höller
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=173016

Summary: cancel of subscriptions are not processed with
disconnected imap
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.10.1
  Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version: 1.10.1 (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS:Linux
Installed from:SuSE RPMs

I setup KMail to access my Googlemail account using disconnected IMAP. To
prevent downloading uneccesary email (i.e., from All Mail and Spam folders on
Gmail), I decided to allow 'local subscriptions' on folders.
But the deselected folders are still downloaded - the settings show no effect.
I get with every connect all mails of all folders from the mail server.

Michael

[Bug 106580] MDN response should be sent to reply-to address

It is basically correct.
Therefore we have to pay attention to the situation where the sender doesn't
specify any Reply-To: address.
In this case the answering MUA can't find a Reply-To: field in the header so it
usually gets the From: address to send the MDN response.
This is inherently wrong as possible cause of SPAM due to the fact the From:
field is freely editable by the sender. So a better choice, in case of missing
Reply-To: address, is to get the address from the Returnpath: field.

There are two actions need to get it to work:

1. deselect the folder you don't want to download on the local subscription
dialog but without action 2 this will have NO effect...

2. on the account settings select the option that you only want to download
the folder which are selected for local subscription.

[Bug 151113] Mails sometimes disappear when filtering with spamassassin

I see the same behaviour with KMail 1.10.1 on Arch Linux and bogofilter. It is
entirely reproduceable and related only to the pipe through filter that passes
the mails through bogofilter (activating this filter breaks mail reception,
deactivating it gets behaviour back to normal).

Still, this broke literally over night for me. One evening all was fine and in
the next morning (still with the same process) this was broken.
