I'm able to reproduce it using svn trunk 885222.
Indeed, I can see the cursor going up (PgUp) or down (PgDown) line by line
until the page changes.

I support Kishore. Filtering/rules workarounds are just workarounds.
I am having paying attention problem from who mail goes (which email), also
backup issues that Kishore mentioned are too complicated - nearly impossible
(no time to waste separating things).

Instead of keeping Outlook philosophy, separate things like in TB. I am now
tied to the TB as neither KMail nor Evolution provides me what I need.
I need KMail abilities with TB style of accounts.
Until that happens, I can't use it. I just need/am used to TB account style and
that is how it is going to stay. I would like that KMail has ability to do it.

[Bug 175503] New: Kcal not building as installed libical isn't found

2008-11-18 Thread Javier
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=175503

Summary: Kcal not building as installed libical isn't found
   Product: kdepimlibs
   Version: 4.1
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcal
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version:(using Devel)
Compiler:  g++ (GCC) 4.2.4
OS:Linux
Installed from:Compiled sources

To build kdepimlibs on Kubuntu 7.04 you need to manually build and install a
newer version of libical. I did it but installed to /usr/local instead of /usr
and as KDEPimLibsDependencies.cmake only expects libical to be installed on
/usr, compilation fails.

After manually changing the paths it compiles just right.

[Bug 173495] [PATCH] kmail_clamav.sh needs tuning, when clamd runs as a different user

2008-11-18 Thread Thomas McGuire
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=173495

--- Comment #1 from Thomas McGuire mcguire kde org 2008-11-18 18:58:14 ---
Did you actually test the patch you posted here??

Because I don't think this will work, since ps -eo user, comm|grep clamd will
get you the username and the process name, which can't be equal to the username
alone.

I suggest adding | awk '{print $1}', therefore making it
ps -eo user,comm | grep clamd | awk '{print $1}

I don't have clamav here, so please test if that works or submit your working
solution.

Thanks for submitting the patch.

[Bug 175517] New: Endless loop when deleting a message

2008-11-18 Thread Ronny Standtke
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=175517

Summary: Endless loop when deleting a message
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version:(using KDE 3.5.10)
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

My inbox contained some messages which I wanted to delete. The messages were
threaded like this:

Message 1
  Message 2
  Message 3

I wanted to delete Message 1. I saw the visual strikethrough of the message but
suddenly, Kontact did not respond any more and eat up my CPU (100% load). I
killed kontact and retried but everytime it crashed. I will keep the messages
for reproduceability just in case you want me to debug the situation...

I attached to the looping kontact with gdb and produced the following
backtrace:

[Bug 174992] Assertion failed in transportmanager.cpp

2008-11-18 Thread Benoît Jacob
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174992

--- Comment #6 from Benoît Jacob jacob math jussieu fr 2008-11-18 23:08:22
---
Here is how this crash happened to me:
with a completely new $KDEHOME, I ran KMail (svn checkout from yesterday), saw
the first-time wizard, I configured my identity (real name + email address) and
an IMAP account (with a server name for receiving and another SMTP name for
sending mail). Then I clicked Finish, the wizard closed, and then the crash
occured.

I tried to reproduce it but failed. I removed share/apps/kmail* and
share/config/kmail* in my KDEHOME, I got the first-time wizard again, filled
the same information, no crash. So I don't know what in KDEHOME must be erased
in order to reproduce the crash.

As for the fix, I can confirm that I've been running it for a day without a
crash; on the other hand I am having a problem where KMail doesn't actually
manage to fetch any mail from my IMAP account and instead gets stuck forever
trying to do it; I don't know if that can be related (I don't want to have made
you introduce another bug in KMail !!)
