[Bug 201151] New: All KMail settings lost when disk full, Kontact crashes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201151 Summary: All KMail settings lost when disk full, Kontact crashes Product: kontact Version: unspecified Platform: unspecified OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: mail AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: eljefedel...@gmail.com Version: unknown (using 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4), Debian packages) Compiler: cc OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.30-1-686 I cannot say if this would have happened with KMail stand-along or not, so I am filing this with Kontact/Mail. My /home/ partition filled up today during a download, and when Kontact went to check for new email the drive was full and Kontact crashed. When I cleaned up space and restarted Kontact: 1. All of my email accounts were gone from the Receiving column in the KMail setup. 2. All of my rules were missing for filtering incoming email. 3. My list of emails in the Inbox windowpane (right side of KMail) looks completely different, with the email info being on one line before (it used to have 'thick' Subject/Date/Sender info, now it is skinny. Currently about 3 emails fit in the space that one used to occupy). 4. System tray settings are no longer valid, I had to reenable that. 5. Messages are no longer signed with my GPG key, I'll have to reset that up. 6. Re-setting up email accounts required all of the IMAP header info to be downloaded again, rather than being found on the local system. And that is all I have come across so far, since this has taken a good amount of time to re-set up and I've not really looked into the rest of what is missing. A "full hard drive" needs to be expected from time to time, and it shouldn't cause Kontact/Mail to lose all of its settings. It may be only KMail-related, as my calendar info and address book still looks to be accurate. Thanks for the great application, I hope that this can be fixed so that it doesn't bite someone else in the future. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

I fell asleep and did not realize it filled up. When I awoke I had errors galore, mostly about UUIDs being invalid and kmail and akonadi could not read the folders in my dimap and it might be a permissions problem. I clicked okay about 15 times from the UUID errors and deleted the virtualbox virtual drive. I rebooted my computer and when I logged back in I got the same errors all over again. Something changed the permissions on my files! Kmail contained no record of my dimap folders. I looked in .kde/share/apps/kmail and the folders were not there. Did akonadi delete them? [Bug 201084] New: If i move to a new hardware, there is no consistent backup tool to move the complete kmail-environment

KMail is installed and empty (that's normal). But how to get all previous emails (from the other laptop) and all connections imported correctly from the old kmail installation. I really would appreciate to have a script that saves (packs) the mail directory and the "config"files for kmail to install them in the new environment and perhaps on the next version of kmail. Ignore this request if this feature is available and it's only me to be too stupid. (rtfm-whish). [Bug 201083] New: Kmail consumes huge amount of memory while displaying email with large attachments
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201083 Summary: Kmail consumes huge amount of memory while displaying email with large attachments Product: kmail Version: unspecified Platform: SuSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: GUI AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: anshulaj...@gmail.com Version:(using KDE 4.2.96) OS:Linux Installed from:SuSE RPMs I'm using Opensuse 4.3 RC1 Release 4.2.96 "Release 142" & Kmail version 1.12.0. I have an email with 2 large PDF attachments of 3.1MB and 1.5MB. I have set the appearance view to "display beside the message pane". Now if I start Kmail (and not Kontact) the memory consumed through htop is approx 60MB. If I click on this email with the large attachment, the memory jumps upto 90MB and if I click on a normal text message it comes back to 60MB. This is reproducible everytime.I can give provide a screenshot and any other information if needed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
