Crash guard.

Should fix the symptoms in bug 153411, but it's not the cure.
The null consumer should not be there at all.

Version: 4.3 (using KDE 4.3.1)

Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

KAddressBook does not display in the left pane the names of contacts imported
from .vcf files (originating from a Nokia N95 phone). It does show the emails
though, and does show the contact names in the right pane.

Editing the contact has the "Contact Name" field already filled with contact's
name, but nothing in "Formatted name". Deleting and re-entering a letter in the
contact's name triggers the autocompletion of "Formatted name".

Screenshot attached.

Marking as a wish since the example emails are malformed.
The wish is to have KMail make an intelligent guess when a header should end
and not rely on the RFC (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5322#section-2.2.3).

[Bug 206852] New: kmail thinks unencrypted attachments are encrypted/signed

2009-09-09 Thread James Bhatt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206852

Summary: kmail thinks unencrypted attachments are
encrypted/signed
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ja...@thebhatts.org

Version:(using KDE 4.3.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:SuSE RPMs

I receive an unencrypted email with an unencrypted attachment (tested: .rar,
.ods, .docx filetypes) using an IMAP account.

I can read the email just fine, attachments are listed as usual. I know the
attachment is unencrypted because I sent it myself from another (web based)
account.

Clicking or right-clicking the attachment and choosing to save the attachment
opens KDE4 file-picker.

Choose 'Save' to save it wherever.

Kmail asks two questions on after the other. From memory the text is:
First: 'Attachment part is encrypted. Do you want to keep the
encryption?' (Yes, No)
Second: 'Attachment part has a signature. Do you want to keep the
signature?' (Yes, No)

If I click Yes to either of these questions, kmail crashes. If I click No to
both, kmail saves a zero byte file.

If I instead choose to open the attachment with the associated application (eg
Ark, OpenOffice) from within kmail without saving it, the attachment opens in
the application just fine.

I have 3 Identities, each with 1 IMAP account each. My default identity had
encryption set up using gpg. Before this, saving attachments used to work. Not
sure if this was the cause of the problem so I removed all encryption stuff
from that identity.

Problem still happens on the default identity, and it also happens on any other
account/identity, even though those have never been set up to use encryption.

Using kmail standalone, from the openSUSE 11.1 KDE4 Factory repos, 32bit arch.

version of KMail (from KDE 4.3.1)?

[Bug 206215] Kontact/kmail change resource type on KOLAB resource

2009-09-09 Thread Georg Greve
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206215

--- Comment #4 from Georg Greve 2009-09-09 13:21:39 ---
Hi Allen,

Apologies for the delay. After it happened about every second time before
filing the report, I haven't been able to reproduce the bug, primarily as I
have been playing around with my system to see whether I could track it down -
and it seems like somehow kded has given up its ghosts while doing so (see
http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde&m=125249396616682&w=2).

The working hypothesis from someone else with who I discussed the issue was
that it was caused by caching / crash interaction, which is possible because I
am among those affected by https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=191589 and
Kontact crashes regularly on network hick-ups.

So we thought that when kontact crashes things might be left in an unclean
state, and upon restart it believes its own cache (or tries to put it back into
"sane" state) instead of asking the server for the correct values and taking
those.

But I could not confirm or disprove this theory so far. Will get back to it
once I've resolved those kded issues.

[Bug 206860] New: at some random point kmail stops accepting keyboard input

2009-09-09 Thread Mathias Homann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206860

Summary: at some random point kmail stops accepting keyboard
input
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ad...@eregion.de

Version:(using KDE 4.3.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:SuSE RPMs

At some random point, kmail stops responding to keyboard input.

The strange thing is that this .. "ignorance" is only partial.

I can hit ctrl-n for "new message" but when i try to type the recipicients
email adress the editor window ignores my keypresses.

I can hit "m" for "move mails" fine, and navigate the folder tree in the popup,
but "enter" doesn't do anything.

After I restart kontact everything works fine.

This happens totally out of the blue, and even when kmail is in "ignore
/dev/keyboard" mode any other app that takes keyboard input still does so.

anything else goes wrong with connecting to any imap server.

4.3.1, please reopen.

[Bug 206920] New: query string truncated from resource URL when trying to update remote resource over http

2009-09-09 Thread Joshua Hodosh
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206920

Summary: query string truncated from resource URL when trying
to update remote resource over http
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: josh.hod...@gmail.com
CC: to...@kde.org

Version:(using KDE 4.3.1)
Compiler: GCC 4.3.2
OS:Linux
Installed from:Gentoo Packages

I've been trying to get Kontact to work with my Zimbra contacts list.
I added it as a network resource, using vcards.

I can read them with no problem using http[s]://server/path/to/contacts.vcf or
http[s]://server/path/to/contacts?fmt=vcf
However, writing doesn't work. I captured the packets for an attempt at an http
write. The .vcf version tries the correct URL, but Zimbra doesn't support
writing to it.
However, the ?fmt=vcf version shows that Kontact is POSTing to
http://server/path/to/contacts without the query string, so Zimbra is
interpreting the vcard as a CSV file. It returns 200 OK.
Somewhere between Kontact and the code making the network request, the URL gets
truncated, resulting in lots of empty contacts in Zimbra's list.

[Bug 206935] New: plan text markup: "*foo*," doesn't show "foo" in bold (punctuation)

2009-09-09 Thread Arne Babenhauserheide
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206935

Summary: plan text markup: "*foo*," doesn't show "foo" in bold
(punctuation)
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.1
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: 1.12.1 (using 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.30-hh2

I really can't say much more than the title, except that I'd love to see the
option to also use different markup engines (for example markdown) which really
is off topic... and:

Many thanks for kmail and kontact!

[Bug 206937] New: SpamBayes function in KMail severely regressed after update to KDE 4.3.1

2009-09-09 Thread Maria Niku
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206937

Summary: SpamBayes function in KMail severely regressed after
update to KDE 4.3.1
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.1
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: mr.wi...@gmail.com

Version: 1.12.1 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Fedora RPMs

After the update from 4.3.0 to 4.3.1 yesterday, I deleted all spam filters and
re-ran the anti-spam wizard. I did not change the given settings: emails marked
as spam and those marked as probable spam are moved to specified, separate
folders.

Prior to the update, SpamBayes was functioning well: there were some mistakes,
as is to be expected, but it learned from those quickly. Now, out of the 70-100
emails that have arrived since the update, EVERY SINGLE one has been marked as
either spam or probable spam. Having manually marked all of those emails as not
spam, there has been no visible change.

There are no errors related to KMail or SpamBayes in .xsession-errors. I posted
about this in the KDE Community forums and was adviced by an admin to report a
bug.
