[Bug 209473] New: Enhancement Request: Article Filtering

2009-10-04 Thread dlesage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209473

   Summary: Enhancement Request: Article Filtering
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: dles...@redhat.com

Version:(using KDE 4.3.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Fedora RPMs

Akregator currently lacks filtering to enable the user to sort articles by
relevancy.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Akregator 1.5.0 (KDE 4.3.0)

How reproducible:
N/A.

Steps to Reproduce:
Two scenarios in which this functionality would be useful:

1.) Person is grabbing RSS news from an IT site each day and is pulling down a
high volume of articles. However, the person only uses OSS so wants to filter
for all articles containing the terms "Linux" and "Haiku", the others being
ignored/sent to a trash can or whatever.

2.) Person uses Google News RSS feeds for a particular topic. Unfortunately,
the ways of customising the feed provided by Google are very limited. The
person may want to exclude some of the news sources provided by Google because
he or she perceives they are of a lower quality or disagrees with their
ideological stance. For example, Google News might be pulling the articles from
the Smithtown Times, Jonestown Courier and the Williamstown Mail. The user
might not like the Jonestown Courier because the articles are always
sensationalised but at present he or she has no way to filter these out, either
on the Google Server or via the RSS client.

Actual results:
Functionality does not currently exist.

Expected results:
Articles that the user deems irrelevant are automatically filtered out by the
RSS client.

[Bug 209472] New: Akregator Cannot Handle Secure RSS Feeds

2009-10-04 Thread dlesage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209472

Summary: Akregator Cannot Handle Secure RSS Feeds
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: dles...@redhat.com

Version:(using KDE 4.3.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Fedora RPMs

Description of problem:
Not sure if this is a bug or a limitation of the software... If an RSS feed
requires a password, Akregator is simply failing to retrieve the articles. It
neither prompts the user for a password nor does it display any error message
if the OPML is imported. If the secure feed is added from scratch, an
incorrect "feed not found" message is diplayed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Akregator 1.5.0 (KDE 4.3.0)

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install kdepim.
2. Launch akregator.
3. Import an *.opml file containing a feed that requires a password.
4. Try to fetch feed. User is neither prompted for the password nor confronted
with an error message.
5. We now try to add the feed afresh: Feed->Add Feed.
6. Input

https://jira.jboss.org/jira/sr/jira.issueviews:searchrequest-comments-rss/12312796/SearchRequest-12312796.xml?tempMax=25

as the feed name.
7. "Feed not found" error dialogue box appears, despite the fact that the feed
exists and another RSS feeder (Blam) can retrieve the articles.

Actual results:
Cannot detect this feed nor retrieve the article

Expected results:
Should either prompt user for a password and then retrieve the articles or, in
both situations, display a correct error message that it cannot retrieve
articles from secure feeds.

[Bug 209471] New: Akregator - Column Sorting Arrows Indicate Behaviour Reverse of that Expected

2009-10-04 Thread dlesage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209471

Reverse of that Expected
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: dles...@redhat.com

Version:(using KDE 4.3.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Fedora RPMs

Description of problem:
If one sorts feeds by date (by clicking on the column header), when the arrow
is pointing DOWN, the most recent entry is at the TOP. When the arrow is
pointing UP, the most recent entry is at the BOTTOM. Shouldn't this be the
other way around? It is contrary to most other programs and certainly GTK ones
are the opposite.

The theme installed was KDE-Leonidas.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Akregator 1.5.0 (KDE 4.3.0).

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install kdepim. (Pulls down KDE Leonidas theme as a dependency.)
2. Import *.opml.
3. Fetch all feeds.
4. Click on date column heading to sort articles.

Actual results:
DOWN = Most recent article at top.
UP = Most recent article at bottom.

This is the opposite of the convention across most other software.

Expected results:
DOWN = Most recent article at bottom.
UP = Most recent article at top.

Version:(using KDE 4.3.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Fedora RPMs

Description of problem:
User limits the global feed archive size to a set number of articles but this
does not take effect.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Akregator 1.5.0
(KDE 4.3.0)

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. sudo yum install kdepim
2. Import *.opml file.
3. Click "Fetch all feeds" - large number of articles comes down for each feed.
4. Settings->Configure Akregator->Archive. Set "Limit Feed Archive Size" to 9
articles.
5. Click "Apply." No change. Click "Okay." Still no change.
6. Click "Fetch All Feeds." Still no change.

Actual results:
The large number of articles (more than 9) are still visible for each feed.

Expected results:
The number of articles visible for each feed should be limited to the 9 most
recent ones, unless older articles are marked as "Important."

[Bug 209449] New: multiple dictionaries at once

Currently kmail composer doesn't allow to use multiple dictionaries at once.

For example I'm writting an email which is part Polish and part English.
Unfortunately in kmail I cannot tell it to use two dictionaries at once.

aspell mailing list says that this should be done in application and looks like
other clients (Evolution) already can do this:

[Bug 209447] New: Enterprise header hides sender's email address

2009-10-04 Thread Peter Paulsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209447

Summary: Enterprise header hides sender's email address
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.1
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: kdebugs.99.urgw...@spamgourmet.com

Version: 1.12.1 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

Kmail's enterprise header doesn't show the sender's email address, just the
name of the sender. In my eyes that's a security issue because anybody
(virus...) could send you a fake message and you cannot see it when you look at
the mail. You also cannot see from which account someone is writing to you
(office, private, mobile) and you cannot distinguish between persons with the
same name (e.g. I have three friends who are just shown as "Mike"). That's
especially important for enterprise use for which this header seems to be
created. We have several customers with the same name so there is the risk of
sending wrong information to the wrong person when using this header.

Please show the sender's email address in the enterprise header, it would be a
big plus for private and office use.

[Bug 206491] External editor doesn't work anymore - KMail 1.12.1 KDE 4.3.1

What is the recommended procedure for upgrading from Qt 4.5.1 to 4.5.2 on
Gentoo? Simply modifying the "keywords" to allow for installing the currently
unstable 4.5.2 is not sufficient, as the 4.5.2 packages are blocked by the
4.5.1 packages that are currently installed. Is it safe to uninstall the 4.5.1
packages and then install the 4.5.2 ones?

Same problem suddenly appeared on Kubuntu kmail from jaunty-backports while
upgrading to kmail-4.2.4-0ubuntu1~jaunty1 or kmail-4.2.4-0ubuntu1~jaunty2.

Deleting the [GlobalTemplates] section in kmailrc fixed this.

I reported this downstream:
