2009-10-26 Thread workingwriter
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=212010

Summary: Kontact/KMail crash when opening attached Word doc
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: workingwri...@prodigy.net

Application that crashed: kontact
Version of the application: 4.3.2
KDE Version: 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 183"
Qt Version: 4.5.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.27.29-0.1-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64)"

What I was doing when the application crashed:
Have standard POP account. Received email from YahooGroup with a Word DOC
attachment. This appeared as a link--not an attachment. Clicked the link and an
Open With dialog appeared (DOCs are associated with OpenOffice Writer).
Selected OOo Writer, and Kontact crashed. The attachment opened.

[Bug 211735] Escape shell special characters when passing %{foo} to command/pipe

2009-10-26 Thread matt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211735

Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but I have a filter which executes the command:

/usr/bin/kdialog --msgbox "New mail: %{Subject}" &

If I leave out the quotes, all I get is a message box saying "New".

I experience the same bug in KMail 1.12.2 (KDE 4.3.2) in Debian Unstable (Sid).
Since I have only one IMAP account, I set my corresponding Identity for that
account as default and tell all IMAP folders to use the default account.

--- Comment #29 from John Andersen 2009-10-07 21:23:54 ---
I'd love to see this implemented in Kmail.

With my other client marking a mail read on one platform (nearly) instantly
shows it as read on other platforms.

With Kmail, not only is this not working, but Kmail delays sending notification
to the server that a mail has been read until the next mail fetch. Simply
clicking on and reading a message should send this notification to the imap
server.

Same problem for me - after ever start of kmail the system got unresponsive for
15-20min with *lots* of disc activity going on. This was caused mainly through
my IMAP folder with 9000+ messages, all others where to small to see this
impact. Kmail did a search on every startup without showing its results or
being requested to do so...

Deleting the files mentioned in comment #4 fixed this problem.

It may also be related to a link that immediately issues a http redirect. When
I get a chance I'll test this and let you know.

Can you try to create a mini-html page which contains exactly the same link you
find in the email and open this page with konqueror.
Then click on the link and see if this happens also.

If it's a problem in kmail, then every URL request should be issued twice,
which does not happen.

As KDE already quotes the arguments, simply do not put quotes around
%{Subject}.
E.g. use: /usr/bin/foo %{Subject}

Summary: IMAP folders ignored if not created by KMail

Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.2)

Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

KMail refuses to show IMAP folders not created by KMail itself.

This account used to have only an INBOX folder. KMail can use it fine. Then I
create an "Archive" folder with the IMAP CREATE command. (a log of the creation
follows) KMail does not display this folder. It does not not display it in the
subscribable remote folders (even after reloading the list).

To make sure that the server was working fine with KMail, I created, in another
account, a new folder using KMail. That folder is recognised by KMail and
correctly shown.

--- Comment #2 from Jaime Torres 2009-10-26 11:57:14 ---
As I've suffered yesterday the same problem with kate from trunk, it is a
kdelibs problem. My problem came after creating a x.patch file, enter the
directory, create a filter for *patch, and the newly patch file was not shown,
but fortunately I could enter the first characters and the filename was
completed.

[Bug 211904] New: KMail crashes if I click another mail before confirming the Disposition Notification Request dialog

2009-10-26 Thread Frank Weng
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211904

Summary: KMail crashes if I click another mail before
confirming the Disposition Notification Request dialog
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: frank...@goodhorse.idv.tw

Version:(using KDE 4.3.2)

I set up my KMail to
1. Always ask if it contains Disposition Notification Request (DNR).
2. Jump to the first unread or new mail when clicking into a folder.
3. Mark the mail as read right after choosing it.

If a mail contains Disposition Notification Request, then it will jump a dialog
asking me if I want to sent it or not. However, if I click another folder to
show a new mail BEFORE the dialog pops up and the whole KMail windows darkens,
the KMail will always crash.

[Bug 211900] kmail attachments not sync with directory contents

2009-10-26 Thread Jose Da Silva
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211900

--- Comment #1 from Jose Da Silva 2009-10-26 08:06:32 ---
Created an attachment (id=37840)
 --> (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=37840)
picture.png (while opening to attach)

Took a snapshot of a temporary directory currently holding several files. there
are also 4 additional files in this temporary folder 001.jpg, 002.jpg, 003.jpg
and 004.jpg.

Even though the files do not show in the open/save dialogue box (therefore you
cannot use the mouse to attach the file), I was able to highlight them by
typing a 0 in the Name box and therefore attaching them in that manner.

This is definitely a broken feature that needs fixing.

[Bug 211900] New: kmail attachments not sync with directory contents

2009-10-26 Thread Jose Da Silva
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211900

Summary: kmail attachments not sync with directory contents
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Mandriva RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: digi...@joescat.com

Version:(using KDE 4.3.2)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Mandriva RPMs

I was asked to report this bug upstream into KDE. It is currently registered in
mandriva's bugzilla as bug # 54855 (
http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=54855 )

-
Description of problem:
Kmail has trouble Forwarding some attachments, so as a temporary solution, I
have saved attachments into a temporary directory, and then open a new email
and attach the attachments from the temporary directory.

What I noticed is that kmail does not update it's knowledge of what is in the
directory.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kmail in mandriva 2010_rc1 (KDE 4.3.2)

How reproducible:
Open up an email and save attachments to a temporary directory, then close
email, then create a new email and open to attach the attachments - you may
have 1 file shown in directory even though there are many files in directory.
Once or twice I managed to get kmail to update it's knowledge by using
konqueror (pointing to same directory) to show "hidden files" (this creates a
.directory file) but this wasn't consistent, so something else is not working
right.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an email with multiple attachments (that fail to be Forwarded if you
tried to Forward email).
2. Click on attachment, select "Save attachment"
3. When it asks to save, Create a new temporary directory, then save the
attachment in the new temporary directory.
4. Save other attachments from same email in this new temporary directory. You
may notice that Kmail only shows 1 attachment in this new temporary directory
even if you have 2 or more (therefore there is a bug on the save too).
5. close email.

6. Create a new email.
7. Select attach (to attach a file)
8. Change to the temporary directory holding your previously saved attachments.
9. You may see only 1 attachment in this directory even if there are more
present (there is a bug here with the save/open dialogue box).
