[Bug 215002] kmail crass when I delete an attachment

2009-11-19 Thread Iacopo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215002

--- Comment #2 from Iacopo iacopo controgeografie net 2009-11-19 10:10:41 ---
It's similar, but not the same. Kmail does not crash when I'm deleting a
message (in this case it works perfectly) but when I'm deleting an attachment
from a message.

I hope this is helpful.

Whenever I select Kontact from the KickOff menu, it appears to be starting but
then the crash report appears instead. I'm running Kubuntu 9.10 64bit on HP

--- Comment #3 from Mark Purcell msp debian org 2009-11-19 12:36:29 ---
Here is some more details.

kontact was running and then closed normally.

Window disappears however kontact is still running in the background:
$ ps aux | grep kontact
mark 3779 0.2 4.3 206232 89668 ?SNov18 5:12 kontact
-session 106870012581672930034940037_1258167309_913406
mark 15539 0.0 0.0 3324 700 pts/0R+ 22:28 0:00 grep kontact

Attempts to start contact from the command line do nothing.. The window does
not appear...
$ kontact

When starting kmail to get something happening kontact crashes:

 kmail

probably crashed.
Error message was: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply : Did not receive a
reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply,
the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired,
or the network connection was broken.

[Bug 215311] New: wish: improvements for tab handling (short-cuts, context-menu)

2009-11-19 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215311

Summary: wish: improvements for tab handling (short-cuts,
context-menu)
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: m.w...@web.de

Version:(using KDE 4.3.3)
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

I just tried tab handling in Kmail, just to see, if if makes sense for me, even
though it does not handle mail and composer windows too. Hereby I noticed
something else missing, which could be easier to implement. It seems like there
are no keyboard shortcuts, mouse-keyboard-short-cuts and no tab handling in the
context menu.
There is missing
CTRL-T - for opening a new tab
CRTL-left-mouse-click - for opening selected (folder) in a new tab
mouse-middle-click - for opening selected (folder) in a new tab
and no context-menu - for opening selected (folder) in a new tab
There could be also - duplicate tab in the context-menu of a tab
and a unclose tab in the context menu of a tab. (with keyboard-shortcut
CTRL-R)
In preparation for an increased tab use there should be also
- detach tab (with short-cut CTRL-D) in the context-menu of a tab
- a tab list in the context-menu of a tab
There might be more standard actions, but these are the ones, I came up with
and use with browsing.

Would be nice to see this implemented.

This seems related to bug 176048. Ok, here it is in knode and there globally in
KDE, but maybe the same config-module is used as it looks the same?

[Bug 215339] New: Kontact crashes after closing it

2009-11-19 Thread Arne Schmitz

Summary: Kontact crashes after closing it
   Product: kontact

  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash

Version of the application: 4.3.3
KDE Version: 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3) release 2
Qt Version: 4.5.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.27.37-0.1-pae i686
Distribution: openSUSE 11.1 (i586)

What I was doing when the application crashed:
What I did:

I closed Kontact. Then I tried to run it again.

What I expected to happen:

I assumed that Kontact would start again.

What I got instead:

It did not start up again. So I took a look with ps aux and saw it was still
running. I sent kontact a SIGTERM, at which place it generated a SIGSEGV and
crashed.

[Bug 208580] distribution lists appears twice in list

2009-11-19 Thread Anders Lund
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208580

--- Comment #3 from Anders Lund anders alweb dk 2009-11-19 23:44:36 ---
Something nice happened: After switching to akonadi, deleting all resources and
recreating them using akonadi bridge, I only get one instance of each
distribution list today :-))

However something odd happened: Distribution list members from resources other
than the resource holding the list can not be filtered using the category
filter in the filter toolbar.

I used akonadi vcard file resources, too tired to delete them and try with
traditional vcard file resources today.

But the issue of this bug appears to be fixed using akonadi vcard resources. If
it stays away, i will close this issue within a few days.

The backtrace is not useful (as expected) as it was a forced crash/exit.
If you can reproduce the original situation (Kontact not being closed properly)
please open a normal bug report. Thanks

Why is this INVALID? I sent a SIGTERM, and Kontact reacts with a SIGSEGV? That
is not proper behaviour in my book.

It's invalid because we can't get any useful information from this backtrace.
(except that it may be related to Qt-Glib)

If you encounter this issue again, attach gdb to the kontact process to see
what's really happening.

the Kontact summary page may use one of the weather plasmoids as a replacement.

[Bug 215366] New: kmail crashed when filling the To: address line.

2009-11-19 Thread cne007
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215366

Summary: kmail crashed when filling the To: address line.
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: cne...@hotmail.com

Application that crashed: kontact
Version of the application: 4.3.1
KDE Version: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
Qt Version: 4.5.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.30-2-amd64 x86_64
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux testing (squeeze)

What I was doing when the application crashed:
when creating a new email, replying to or forwarding I noticed kmail crashes
unpon completing the To: filed.
My address book is set up to use OpenLDAP. Usually when I type (even addresses
that I never sent to before) it auto completes or displays names base on what
is being typed.
Sometimes when typing the address (format is fistname.lastn...@blablabla) it
does not complete/find the name in the address book and krashes. It never
happened beforethat upgrade, at least on my michine.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215376

   Summary: (Wish) Import Contacts Photos
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: michael.a.we...@gmail.com
CC: to...@kde.org

Version:(using KDE 4.3.3)
Installed from:openSUSE RPMs

Would it be possible to import Contact pictures using KIPI plugins?
I'm not a programmer, but I'd love to have the ability to do this as long as it
didn't cause problems or affect performance.
