[Bug 218278] New: KMail crashes when akonadiserver crashes

[Bug 216101] Make Kmail filter incoming imap mails - 4.3.2 still broken

Try rebooting and see if that helps.? Come on! Free software is *better* than that. My filters (among other parts of my config) took me quite a while to build up, and I don't want to throw them away and spend hours re-entering them, on the off chance that this *might* help and allow *me* alone to bypass this bug, while leaving it in the code for others to potentially trip over. Running the filters by hand every couple of days is preferable to that mindless drudgery. Plus I can think of many things I'd find much more interesting and rewarding, like spend hours installing debug symbols, running kmail through a debugger, and seeing where that leads me. Only I've no idea where to start putting breakpoints. I'd be happy to send you my entire kmailrc by private email if you think that might help. And probably any other config files that might be of use. [Bug 217946] LDAP directory contact attributes cannot be modified
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217946 rdrat...@yahoo.co.uk changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Comment #2 from rdratlos yahoo co uk 2009-12-12 03:40:37 --- After checking the source code (provided by Ubuntu) I found following solutions for this bug report: 1. Missing objectClasses This problem can be easily solved. By default kaddressbook supports only inetPerson as objectClass for its contacts. But in the preference dialog for the LDAP addressbook there is an attribute mapping button. Once it's pressed a mapping dialog pops up which has an entry object classes. Just add the missing objectClasses with comma separation. The final entry should look as follows: person, organizationalPerson, inetOrgPerson 2. Attribute Modification fails This problem still occurs after having applied the solution for problem 1. But this is not a bug of kaddressbook. It's a bug of kdepimlibs which kaddressbook uses. 3. Complete deletion and add of contacts in case of modification This problem cannot be confirmed. Maybe my ACLs where not correctly set up. After checking the LDAP protocol between kaddressbook and my LDAP server and the kdepimlibs source code, it seems that kaddressbook only modifies the attributes using the 'replace' operation. I will set this bug report to 'resolved' and open a new for kdepim. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 218353] New: LDAP directory contacts cannot be modified
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218353 Summary: LDAP directory contacts cannot be modified Product: kdepimlibs Version: 4.3 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kldap AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: rdrat...@yahoo.co.uk Version:(using KDE 4.3.2) OS:Linux Installed from:Ubuntu Packages I tested kaddressbook (4.3) as front-end to manage contacts in a LDAP directory (addressbook). The server runs openldap 2.4. kaddressbook perfectly adds and deletes contacts. But it fails to modify attribute values of a contact within the LDAP directory. After changing e. g. the facsimile number of a contact, kaddressbook shows the updated number but the new number is not saved in the LDAP directory. OpenLDAP reports following failure: 'value #0 invalid per syntax'. kaddressbook uses kdepimlibs for communication with the LDAP server. kdepimlibs use the modify-replace operation of the LDAP protocol for modification of attribute values. In case of empty attributes (especially numbers) kdepimlibs does not comply to IETF RFC 2849. After the replace attribute name statement kdepimlibs adds an empty line before end of operation ('-'). When parsing such a request, the LDAP server reports the above mentioned error notification and denies the complete modification request. kaddressbook does not report this problem to the user. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 218353] LDAP directory contacts cannot be modified
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218353 --- Comment #3 from rdratlos yahoo co uk 2009-12-12 04:28:12 --- There seems to be a simple fix for this problem. The kabc plugin ldapkio within kdepimlibs has a private addEntry method that can be changed to solve this bug. It resides in the file resourceldapkio.cpp. The addEntry method should check itself (again), if the calling function has handed over a value for a particular attribute or not. If not, the attribute name should not be added (and afterwards sent to the LDAP directory). This applies for modification (i. e. replace) operations and add operations. I've tested this solution under Ubuntu karmic and it works fine. Attribute values can be added, modified and deleted again. Attached there is the patch I've applied. I have not identified further side-effects of this patch. But I recommed some further testing. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
