KMKernel::emergencyExit is there to prevent KMail from writing a empty kmailrc
file. (see bug 169132)

A fix in kdelibs was also committed (svn 1023830).

The crash was also fixed and will be in 4.3.4, it's bug 199375.

[Bug 219002] New: Templates aren't use for new mails if you switch the identity

2009-12-16 Thread DaB .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219002

Summary: Templates aren't use for new mails if you switch the
identity
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: k...@daniel.baur4.info

Version: 1.12.2 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.30-1-686

I defined a new-email-template for an identity, which is not the
default-identity. When I like to create a new email, a new window with the
default-identity-template is open (logical). But if I switch the identidy, the
text is not changed to the template of the (then switched) identity, but it
remains on the default.

I guess the right reaction would be, that the text from the template of the
identity is insert (as long as no text was insert allready).

Sincerly,
DaB.

[Bug 216101] Make Kmail filter incoming imap mails - 4.3.4 still broken

2009-12-16 Thread Adam Spragg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216101

--- Comment #5 from Adam Spragg 2009-12-16 22:58:21 ---
Hmmmit's kind of working. I removed my kmailrc, restarted kmail, entered
details (I now have duplicate identities - the new one I was asked to enter,
and the old ones. WTF?) recreated the arocket filter, noticed I'd lost all the
UI/theme/toolbar customisations I'd spent ages building up and getting
comfortable with ... and went to work.

Checking my account externally while I was at work, arocket mail was piling up
in my inbox without being filtered by kmail running on my home PC.

When I got home in the evening, no new mails had been caught by the arocket
filter, but none were showing up in my inbox either. Switching to the arocket
folder showed no changes, but switching back to the inbox caused it to suddenly
realise I had new mail, and it filtered the arocket emails as appropriate.

Will see if this happens again, and report back.

I can't keep this up for more than another day or so without switching back to
my old kmailrc. As my spam filters aren't currently running (they're set up on

[Bug 218995] New: File open dialog not showing all files in a directory

2009-12-16 Thread Markus Brueckner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218995

Summary: File open dialog not showing all files in a directory
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: kde-b...@slash-me.net

Version:(using KDE 4.3.2)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

Some applications (with contact being the latest of my examples with the
according screenshot) do not show all files in a directory although "All files"
is selected as a filter. Newer files (the exact definition of "newer" is
unclear. I can't really see a consistent pattern at the moment. Seems as if
this happens when files were created after the dialog was opened for the first
time e.g. with an earlier email) are not shown although they are visible in the
completion list when typing in their first letters (see screenshot). This can
be fixed with a simple refresh of the list (clicking on the appropriate icon),
so I'd assume some caching issues here.

[Bug 218986] New: using multiple sending accounts

2009-12-16 Thread heavytull

   Summary: using multiple sending accounts
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Slackware Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: heavyt...@hotmail.com

Version:(using KDE 4.2.4)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Slackware Packages

when using kmail with more than one pop/imap/smtp account, it is always sending
emails through the same account, even when the email is sent 'via xxx'.
In my case I have one gmail pop account and an imap account from another
service provider. Both smtp accounts have been set in kmail. The gmail one is
set as the default one. When I send emails, they're all sent through the gmail
account. But when I try to sent an email through the other one then it is sent
again through the gmail account.

What I was doing when the application crashed:
If my gpg key cache time expires and I switch mailboxes into a mailbox where
the previously viewed email was encrypted using GPG, it will ask me for my
private key password. If I'm not interested in decrypting it, and instead want
to view a different message, I hit "Cancel"; pinentry goes away. It then shows
a message showing that the email failed to decrypt, do I want to try again? If
I hit "cancel" at that point, Kmail will crash, 100%.

[Bug 54864] F3 should "Find next", as in Konqueror

2009-12-16 Thread Maciej Pilichowski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54864

--- Comment #9 from Maciej Pilichowski 2009-12-16 17:25:18
---
a) what if there is no search pane -- "find next" means "find next", not "show
search pane, focus, and then find next". The difference is important especially
for small screens

b) it is wrong for even with search pane shown because it is counterproductive
(try kate with search pane opened and just imagine what happens when search
pane gets focus each time user hits find next), Konqueror does not have caret
mode yet (right?) but even with forms it would kill usability

[Bug 206738] KMail crash with assert (KMail::MessageListView::StorageModel::slotMessageAdded, ..., KMFolder::msgAdded)

--- Comment #6 from David Faure 2009-12-16 17:21:21 ---
I can reproduce this bug using the following steps:

1) do a search on a mail folder (mine had subfolders, dunno if that matters)
2) close the search dialog
3) click on the "Last Search" folder at the bottom of the folder list
4) do the exact same search again, on the same folder as in step 1

Crash. Looks like it doesn't like the fact that the current folder is "Last
Search", which has to be re-populated I guess.

[Bug 218309] KMail crashes on double send

2009-12-16 Thread Allan Sandfeld
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218309

--- Comment #2 from Allan Sandfeld 2009-12-16 17:03:34 ---
The backtrace is indeed identical. The version I am using should be more recent
than that, but I will try and clean up the binaries and do a fresh build to
confirm.

But if it doesn't crash, then what actually happens to the doublicate
send-action that triggers the bug?

[Bug 218278] KMail crashes when akonadiserver crashes

2009-12-16 Thread Allan Sandfeld
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218278

--- Comment #1 from Allan Sandfeld 2009-12-16 16:59:06 ---
It should be noted that after clicking on the message the focus is moved but
the message does not appear in the message window. The crash happens when you
select another message. If you instead wait 2 minutes the message does appear
and no crash happens.

This is likely a case where the asynchronous processing can not properly deal
with actions taken before it is finished. It might be hard to debug without a
crashy akonadiserver, but it might be possible to replicate by just delaying
the answer long enough that you can click on another message..

[Bug 218935] New: Cannot create subfolder in a root level in a Imap account

2009-12-16 Thread Leopold Palomo Avellaneda
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218935

Summary: Cannot create subfolder in a root level in a Imap
account
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: l...@alaxarxa.net

Version:(using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

It's a known problem of Kmail. When kmail access to an imap account, for
example courier, the user _only_ can create folders under Inbox folder, not at
the same level of the Inbox folder.

Thunderbird solves it configuring a IMAP server directory, with INBOX (all
uppercase). I don't know if it could be an easy thing to implement something
similar.

Regards,

Leo

[Bug 218934] New: Unable to set date in the popup dialog without mouse

2009-12-16 Thread Hans Wurst
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218934

Summary: Unable to set date in the popup dialog without mouse
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: hans.wu...@berlin.com

Version: 4.3.4 (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS:Linux
Installed from:openSUSE RPMs

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open Kontact application
2) Open Calendar View (Ctrl+4)
3) Open New Event dialog (Ctrl+N)
4) Go to Start Date Control (Alt+S twice - I think this is minor defect too)
5) Open popup dialog (Alt+Down)
6) Try to navigate to some date... I have no way to do it w/o mouse.

[Bug 218912] New: Kontact crash when trying to print a mail [QAction::d_func, QAction::setChecked, KMPrintCommand::execute]

2009-12-16 Thread Marc Schiffbauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218912

Summary: Kontact crash when trying to print a mail
[QAction::d_func,  QAction::setChecked,
KMPrintCommand::execute]
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4 pre
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: m...@links2linux.de

Application: kontact (4.4 pre)
KDE Platform Version: 4.3.80 (KDE 4.3.80 (KDE 4.4 Beta1)) (Compiled from
sources)
Qt Version: 4.6.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-gentoo x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Gentoo Packages

-- Information about the crash:
Trying to print a mail from kontact/kmail produces a crash.

Gwenview for example is able to print, although because PyKDE does not build in
4.3.80 I still have pykde4-4.3.4 and printer-applet-4.3.4 as well as
system-config-printer-kde-4.3.4 installed on this system. I dunno if this is
related somehow.

The crash can be reproduced everytime.

[Bug 218900] New: Sort folder subscription list alphabetically

2009-12-16 Thread Moritz Bunkus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218900

Summary: Sort folder subscription list alphabetically
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: mor...@bunkus.org

Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

Some few IMAP servers deliver the folder list without sorting it first. This
makes the IMAP subscription dialog pretty hard to use if the server contains
more than a handful of folders. It would be nice if kmail could simply sort the
folder list alphabetically itself.

Thanks :)
