I had a similar issue, gdb attached showed that it stopped at

0x7f97d59573c3 in *__GI___poll (fds=, nfds=, timeout=59993) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:87
87 ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c: No such file or directory.
in ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c

ATM, I cannot use SVN version. Could you tell whether the bugfix was related to
this error?

Okay, I turned on mail debugging in dovecot, and I got this for the commands
received by dovecot during each retrieval. Clearly something is going wrong
with the commands sent...

[Bug 240154] Kontact crashed while shutting down and crashed again while starting it up after system start

2010-05-30 Thread Frans Leerink
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=240154

--- Comment #1 from Frans Leerink 2010-05-30 23:02:15 ---
Hello,

The bug I am referring to was 232047 -- Sometimes very high CPU-Consumption by
XOrg and plasma-desktop 49-53% resp. 41-43%

My system is now basically not useable due to high CPU-load or missing Kontact
functionality.

Any idea how to solve this problem.

Regards, Frans

Summary: Kontact crashed while shutting down and crashed again
while starting it up after system start
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: f.leer...@xs4all.nl

Application that crashed: kontact
Version of the application: 4.3.5
KDE Version: 4.3.5 (KDE 4.3.5) "release 0"
Qt Version: 4.5.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop i686
Distribution: "openSUSE 11.2 (i586)"

What I was doing when the application crashed:
Hello

Kontact crashed while shutting down and Kontact crashed again while starting up
after system start. This started to happen after a system freeze while I was
downloading a PDF document with Okular. I had to push the power button to bring
the system down. I started my System and than Kontact what triggered a Kontact
crash. Due to the bug 2023.. -high CPU consumption Xorg and plasma-desktop- I
had to start Kontact again and than shutdown and restart the the system and as
a result Kontact, but this time Kontact crashed during shutdown ans crashed
again during the next start after the system was started again

[Bug 77862] kio_imap processes hang when connection status changes

--- Comment #65 from Frank Steinmetzger 2010-05-30 21:24:17 ---
Wanting to report this issue, I found this bug. My setup is quite similar to
the OP’s: I’m in my uni’s WLAN over vpnc. Occasionally it so happens that the
VPN connection kicks the bucket. Or I suspend the laptop and later switch it on
again, which makes the VPN connection invalid.

Now I reinstate the connection, but when I select my uni’s IMAP account, I only
get the blueish "downloading folder contents" screen, but no message list. So I
decide to restart Kontact, but most times it doesn’t even start again if I
don’t kill the kio_imap process(es) beforehand.

KDE 4.4.3, KMail 1.13.3, Gentoo.

[Bug 240118] New: Signatures do not support "quote above" formatting on replies and do not provide space to type

2010-05-30 Thread Brian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=240118

Summary: Signatures do not support "quote above" formatting on
replies and do not provide space to type
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.3
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: bl...@mikkl.com

Version: 1.13.3 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:Linux

When replying to a message with signatures enabled, the signature is placed
above quoted text. Kmail should be intelligent enough to place signatures
below quoted text.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Ensure that "use signature" is enabled
Open an email
Highlight some text
Click reply

Actual Results:
Signature is placed above the quoted text

Expected Results:
One or more blank lines and the signature should have been placed below the
quoted text.

Currently, the only workaround is to use custom templates, however this fails
when top posting is expected. Kmail should be be smart enough to recognize
when bottom posting is appropriate, as in the case of selectively quoting a
prior email.

Please reopen the bug report if you can reproduce it with KDE 4.5.

Hej,

unfortunately the old groupdav resource you are using is not maintained
anymore, since it is based on the old kresource framework.
With KDE 4.5 we'll ship a new Akonadi based DAV resource, which is more
reliable and supports a broader range of CalDAV/CardDAV/GroupDAV based
groupware servers. Sorry for the inconveniences in the meantime.

Ciao,
Tobias

hi,
i've started these days to use kmail and i've found it very interesting,
congratulation for your great work. anyway, i've found a bug in sending e-mails
with a different smtp account other than the first configured. i've noticed
that action made throught the button to send e-mails that allows to use another
smtp account is ignored and it is used always the first. it is very annoying

[Bug 240056] New: kmail downloads emails again after moving the mail folder with Disconnected IMAP.

2010-05-30 Thread Chirag
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=240056

Summary: kmail downloads emails again after moving the mail
folder with Disconnected IMAP.
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.2
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: disconnected IMAP
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: anand.chi...@gmail.com

Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS:Linux

I followed the instructions from
http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdepim/kmail/faq.html#id2568470 to move the mail
folder location but Kmail started to download all the email messages again from
the start in the ~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail directory.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Exit KMail
2. make a backup of ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc
3. then open it with an editor and edit "folders=$HOME/.mail" in the
“[General]” section.
4. mv ~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/* ~/.mail/

Actual Results:
Open KMail, it will start downloading all the messages again.

I was not using any local/server-side subscriptions, so that couldn't have
caused this.
