Could you please attach your ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc config file
(careful, could contain a password)?

[Bug 243922] Regression: Password in settings not remembered for mail check - because wallet receives invalid window ID when the systray icon is not running.

--- Comment #4 from Till Adam   2010-07-13 12:39:20 ---
Discussed this with Volker today, we think we should separate the two concerns
here. 1) there should be an akonadi wide ID that is used for the wallet
identification, independent of GUI processes. 2) every gui process that calls
"needsWorkingAkonadi" should add its pid to a list of available window parents,
and then the top most of those (or some other heuristic) should be used when a
resource needs to raise a wallet dialog. There's already API in resourcebase to
find out a win id to use as a parent.

remembered between restarts, a manually saved Search Folder doesn't crash KMail
on startup.

Works here. But I see another weird thing, KMail is renaming/removing the
search folders randomly. I actually saw it first in comment #63: I created a
Search Folder named test and exited. After I restarted Kmail, I had two Search
Folders: test and Test. Well, I didn't have enough coffee yet, so I discarded
it as a personal brainfuck. I removed both the folders.

Now I tested it again and kept the Last Search folder name, restarted KMail,
and I suddenly had my old folder called test again. With the old search
settings.  WTF?

So I removed test again, did another search called Last Search, shut down KMail
and had a look at the ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/search directory:

m...@otherland:~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/search$ cat Last\ Search
[Search Folder]
Base=.1081015519.directory/INBOX
Recursive=true
contentsA=testest
fieldA=
funcA=contains
name=
operator=and
rules=1

So far so good. Now I restarted KMail and had no Search Folder at all! The
file Last Search was removed from the harddisk as well.

Something is very odd around here. But KMail doesn't crash.

and I suddenly had my old folder called test again. With the old search
settings.  WTF?

So I removed test again, did another search called Last Search, shut down KMail
and had a look at the ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/search directory:

m...@otherland:~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/search$ cat Last\ Search
[Search Folder]
Base=.1081015519.directory/INBOX
Recursive=true
contentsA=testest
fieldA=
funcA=contains
name=
operator=and
rules=1

So far so good. Now I restarted KMail and had no Search Folder at all! The
file Last Search was removed from the harddisk as well.

Something is very odd around here. But KMail doesn't crash.
8<

It seems like KMail got confused internally about its searches. Next is the
debug output etc. of KMail starting with an existing search folder Last Search
("Can not find parent folder for Last Search"), once it runs I created a new
search called test. Note that KMail swallows the last character of the old
search folder name (".Last Searc.index.sorted").

--- Comment #66 from Malte S. Stretz   2010-07-13
14:09:00 ---
I opened bug 244489 about the problem I see. Guess that bug somehow
fixes/works around the crash here.

So it seems that probably the next version after 0.8.0 (or the current svn)

[Bug 244572] New: Message templates for new mails are not always used

2010-07-13 Thread Volker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244572

   Summary: Message templates for new mails are not always used
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.4
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: neuntoe...@arcor.de

Version:   1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS:Linux

(I have put the german menu items in brackets because I use a german version of
kmail)

I have a single identity (Identität) configured in kmail. Under identities
(Identitäten)-> templates (Vorlagen) I have configured an email template for
"new message" ("Neue Nachricht").

When I create a new message with STRG+N (Datei->Neu->Neue Nachricht) the
template is used and a new message opens with the text defined in message the
template.

When I right-click on an email address in a message body that I have recieved
and choose "new message to..." ("Neue Nachricht an..."), then the template is
not used and a new blank message opens.

The behaviour should be the same in both cases. In both cases the text defined
in the template should be used.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Define message template
- create message with STRG-N
- create message with right-click on email adress in email body and choose "new
message to..."

Actual Results:
template is not used when right-click on email adress in email body and choose
"new message to..."

Expected Results:
template should be used in all cases
