Can you try using the latest SVN versions of akonadi (the server), kdepimlibs
and kdepim, please?
Leo has seen the problem as well one time, but couldn't reproduce. This might
be caused by incompatible changes in akonadi server and kdepimlibs, which
therefore need to be upgraded.

[Bug 244860] New: Kmail reports, that server doesn't support UIDL

2010-07-16 Thread Alois Steindl
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244860

Summary: Kmail reports, that server doesn't support UIDL
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: pop3
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: alois.stei...@tuwien.ac.at

Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS:Linux

Hello,
recently kmail started to report quite regularly, that the server
doesn't support UIDL. The server is Dovecot and using telnet to the server
one can request the UIDLs without problems.
After that message Kmail also complains several times, that it obtains
invalid responses from the server.
Suddenly the program works o.k., seems to depend on the current number (?) of
mails on the server, and the messages are downloaded without problems.
I configured kmail to leave the mails on the server.
Of course, I do get a large number of double (and threefold) messages.
Downloading the mails with thunderbird makes no problem at all.
Best regards

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Seems to be related with the state of the mail file on the server.
Happens approximately every hour; when it happens, it takes some time, until it
works again.

Expected Results:
Download the mail, sort out multiple mails.

KDE-version is already 4.4.5

Needed a bit, because sometimes anything work. The culprit seems to be
overlapping-buffer-mixing-by-memcpy. I'll attach a patch that should fix the
POP3 kioslave.

[Bug 244874] New: Kmail does not remember empty password on IMAP with anonymous login

2010-07-16 Thread SinnerBOFH
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244874

Summary: Kmail does not remember empty password on IMAP with
anonymous login
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.3
  Platform: Mandriva RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sinnerb...@gmail.com

Version: 1.13.3 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:Linux

For IMAP accounts with anonymous login and empty password, Kmail does not
remember the empty password. Tried checking/unchecking Store IMAP password,
tried Security: Authentication Method: Anonymous/Clear Text. Had this problem
on all KMail from KDE 4.x.y versions up to 4.4.3 compiled either by Mandriva
official or Mandriva third-parties

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create account for http://dovecot.org/mailinglists.html called, for example,
dovecot-archives (dovecot.org as the host-name, anonymous as the user-name and
an empty password)
2. Check (or leave unchecked) Store IMAP password
3. Set Security: Authentication Method to either Anonymous or Clear Text
4. Save account
5. Exit KMail (or Kontact)
6. Launch KMail (or Kontact)
7. Click on Check Mail in All folders icon

Actual Results:
User gets prompted for password on dovecot-archives
(annonymous-with-no-password) account. If you check the remember this
password, exit Kmail and try again, you get prompted again for password.

Expected Results:
If password is empty and save password is checked on account configuration,
OR using Anonymous Security: Authentication Method
OR user checks Remember password on a password dialog and there is an empty
password

THEN KMail should remember that for this account, password is empty and not ask
for password again

Entering a random password on account set up, checking Remember IMAP password
and selecting Anonymous Security: Authentication Method, then KMail does not
ask for password.

This works, but it is ugly and non-intuitive (and wrong)

[Bug 244885] New: Font combo box not updating when changing fonts in Composer

2010-07-16 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244885

Summary: Font combo box not updating when changing fonts in
Composer
   Product: KMail 2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

After applying a different font than the default one on a line of text in the
composer and leaving the cursor on that line the Fonts name combo box does not
update and display the correct font name.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kontact and go to Kmail
- Click on 'New Message'
- Go to Settings menu/Toolbars Shown/Navigator to display the Navigator toolbar
- Enter a recipient, a subject and a couple of lines of text in the text editor
- Select the second line and change its font from the default one to Arial
Black
- Leave the cursor on that line

Actual Results:
The font is successfully applied to the selected text.
However, the Font combo box still displays the default font (Deja Vu Sans) for
me

Expected Results:
whereas it should have updated and display Arial Black instead.

Same thing happens if a different font (ex: Arial Black) from the default one

The new font is successfully applied to the text but the Fronts combo box still

The 'Composer' dialogue remains greyed and the 'Sonnet Configuration' dialogue
still has the focus.

Expected Results:
The 'Sonnet Configuration' should give back the focus to the 'Composer'
dialogue so that the user could resume writing his email.

[Bug 244916] New: New words added to the 'Sonnet Configuration' dialogue are ignored

2010-07-16 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244916

Summary: New words added to the 'Sonnet Configuration' dialogue
are ignored
   Product: KMail 2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

Adding new words for the spellchecker to ignore does not seem implemented at
the moment.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kontact and go to Kmail
- Click on 'New Message'
- Go to Settings menu/Spellchecker...
- Enter a few words (ex: KDAB, KMAIL, KSNAPSHOT...) by clicking on the 'Add'
button
- Click on 'Ok'
- In the 'Composer' dialogue enter a sentense using thoses words (ex: I work
for KDAB on KMAIL and I use KSNAPSHOT to do screenshots of dialogues.)

Actual Results:
The words entered in the 'Sonnet Configuration' dialogue are underlined by the
Spellchecker

Expected Results:
whereas they should be ignored as requested by the user.
