[Bug 245396] New: contact groups don't have any selectable entries in kmail dialog

2010-07-22 Thread Jan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245396

Summary: contact groups don't have any selectable entries in
kmail dialog
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: malte.ge...@googlemail.com
CC: to...@kde.org

empty contact groups in kmail dialog

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

in kadressbook i can edit the contact groups, add new entries and see them all.
So this seems to work.
But when i try so send an email to them, i usually have to select them one by
one, as sending to an entire group doesn't work anymore.
Well, but now, all the entries of contact groups doesn't have an emailadress
anymore, so i can't select them. so contact groups are completly useless at the
moment. i have this issue on two systems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Having some contacts stored in personal contacts
add a new contact group
add some contacts to the contact group
try to select the recipients at kmail dialog

Actual Results:
the contact group is shown with the number of entries, but they are empty, so
now mail can be send to them

Expected Results:
the members should be visible and have their email adress so you can select
them

this was first seen on kde 4.4 and still exists in kde 4.5 kubuntu ppa packages

Hej,

I can't reproduce this bug here with current version from 4.5 branch.
Do you see any error messages on the console? Is Nepomuk running correctly?

Ciao,

I use the one from the ppa, so I don't know if this is the same version.
I didn't start from the console. Nepomuk seems to run correctly. How should I
start kontact an/or akonadi to get some output?

If i select the contact group as recipient for the mail all members get an
email. but i can't select only some members because the aren't displayed as in
attachment #49385

Hej,

quit kontact, open a konsole window, type 'akonadictl stop', wait until akonadi
server has been stopped, type 'akonadictl start'. Now all error
messages/warnings of akonadi will be displayed inside the konsole window.

Ciao,

Ok, the external filestorage has now been fixed in akonadi server trunk with
r1151694. It will be backported to kdesupport-from-4.5 soon.
However, you need to manually enable external payloads in the akonadi server
config file for this. In ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc, add a section
called [General], and for that section add an entry ExternalPayload=true,
then restart the akonadi server (akonadictl stop + akonadictl start).

  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal

Version: 1.3.50 (using Devel)

I made Volker's recommended change to ItemSync (See bug 245265 which makes my
syncing actually continue).

Now one of my imap resources continually segfaults on startup.

Seems to thing that it is going offline first?

[Bug 245436] New: Details window does not match the selected contact

2010-07-22 Thread Nancy Anthracite
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245436

Summary: Details window does not match the selected contact
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: na...@anthracite.name
CC: to...@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS:Linux

I don't know how to reproduce this consistently, but the details display will
sometimes seem stuck on the same display even when I pick another name until I
close and reopen kontact.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Click on the name in the center column in the Contact display and the right
hand column will not change - it will remain stuck on a contact that was
previously displayed

Actual Results:
I don't know how to reproduce it.

Expected Results:
When you select a different name, the details display will change to be the
details for the contact you selected.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-5-686-bigmem
Compiler: cc

If someone could test and post the reply to a COPY and a APPEND command from an
exchange server configured without uidplus we might be able to just ignore the
missing capability.

Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.4.4)

I'm seeing a weird behaviour with base64 encoded messages. Basically when the
message is shown the last line cannot be seen. Right now I noticed this
behaviour when there is no line feed as last character of the last line, and
I've spotted this in html messages, even if I'm not sure if this happens also
in text formatted messages.
The same messages is correctly show in other readers (gmail webmail, for
instance)
I'm using kde 4.4.5 but this issue is not recent, as I've seen it on 4.4.4 at
least, probably even in older version.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
read a message base64 encoded lacking EOL on last line.

Does this mean that a new akonadi ressource will have to be implemented for the
servers which do not have UIDPLUS? Then how will the UI look like if there are
two IMAP ressources?

I have a similar problem with KDE 4.5rc2 : KMail stops even if Akonadi Self
Test doesn't report any error.

When I restore my last KDE Session, KDE restores KMail which launch Akonadi and
the Akonadi Self Test which reports no error.
But, by clicking Ok on the Akonadi Self Test, it closes KMail (but it seems
there is no crash).

I don't if there is a link but Akonadi requires a KWallet access to retrieve a
password for a resource. I don't know if this delay could explain why KMail
stops whereas no Akonadi error is reported.

--- Comment #2 from David Faure faure kde org 2010-07-22 23:12:30 ---
It looks like I was wrong, run-together words can also have no uppercase
letters in them. See the examples at
http://aspell.net/0.50-doc/man-html/7_Adding.html#run-together
Same happens in german, see Donaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän
(http://german.about.com/library/blwort_long.htm)

The problem IMHO is that this isn't sonnet's job, but the spellchecker's job.
When skip run-together words is set, sonnet should set the corresponding
option in aspell/ispell/hspell.

--- Comment #4 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-07-22 23:29:13 ---
Indeed after looking up the proper definition for run-together words here are
the new steps to reproduce:

- Launch Kontact and go to Kmail
- Click on 'New Message'
- Go to Settings menu/Spellchecker...
- Leave the Default language as English
- Uncheck all the check boxes (if any are checked)
- Click on 'Ok'
- In the composer text edit type the following lines:
'youtube.com
Donaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän'
- Both words are underlined by the spellchecker
- None of the words should be underlined by the spellchecker.

Trunk, Svn Rev 1153123

- Go back to Settings menu/Spellchecker...
- Check the 'Skip run-together words' check box only

Crash happened during the same operation (switching to another mail folder),
although, judging by the backtrace, in a different destructor.

I retested this today and the spellchecker is still always enabled whether the
check box is checked or not so I am reopening this bug.

I think Casey fixed this---it was broken for me too, and now works again.
Please reopen if it's still buggy!

--- Comment #5 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-07-23 02:08:26 ---
It is corrected now.

No uppercase words is underlined by the spellchecker now when the 'Skip all
uppercase words' check box has been checked and providing that the'Automatic
spell checking enabled by default check box has been checked too.

--- Comment #2 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-07-23 02:16:33 ---
I retested this today and both buttons are still greyed.

Moreover there is a regression since now most buttons from the Navigator
toolbar are also greyed now which was not the case last week when I tested
them: Bold, Italic, Underlined, Strike through...

So I am reopening this bug.

password, but nothing happens - no resource gets added to the list.

As detailed above.
