[Bug 246758] New: DAVgroupwareResource not selectable/manageable

2010-08-04 Thread Ingo Ratsdorf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246758

   Summary: DAVgroupwareResource not selectable/manageable
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: vkra...@kde.org
ReportedBy: i...@envirology.co.nz
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Created an attachment (id=49815)
 --> (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=49815)
System Settings steps

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.95)
OS:Linux

/[KDE]/trunk/KDE/kdepim/runtime/resources/dav
I complied that resource and installed it and it works fine with my calendars
(2 installed) so far apart from one mayor problem:

When I create an event in Korganizer/Kontact, the program will show a selection
dialog for the calendar the event will be saved under. It shows a selection of
either some traditional KDE resource that is installed or the Akonadi Calendar.
When I select Akonadi Calendar, the program then display an EMPT selection box.
Hence, I cannot create any new evnts in Korganizer/Kontact.

When I go to "System Settings", "Personal Information" (used to be resources
under the old KDE 4.4), the akonadi calendar is listed there.
When I select it and click "edit", the opened dialog lists only Akonadi
Birthdays, but not my two CalDAV resources.
Yet, when I click on "Manage Calendar Sources", VOILA, my two calendars are
listed in there.

So why do they not show up in the dialog before, because that's where I would
like to set one of them as default for VTODO's and VEVENT's.
And why can't I select any of them in Korganizer/Kontact for new events?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Add new DAV calendar under "Manage Calendar sources"

Actual Results:
Calendar will list in Korganizer but is not selectable for any event
modification or creation.
Calendar won't show up in Akonadi Sources.

Expected Results:
Calendar to be selectable for any event modification or creation in
Korganizer/Kontact
Calendar to show up in Akonadi Sources and be selectable to be default for
events and todo's.

After reading this bug report, I think there is a similarity between this and
my bug report

* Bug 242056 - Segmentation fault in KMail

that I opened some time ago. I still experience this bug repeatedly
throughout the day, sometimes dozens of times, sometimes just 5 or 10, but
always with GMail mail lists. I have attached backtraces to that report with
the several versions of Kontact/kdepim/Kmail that I have tried, from the one in
openSuSE RC through GM and KDE:factory repo enabled and also 'clean'.

(1.3.1). Now, when akonadi couldn't be started, kmail gracefully quits.

I had to google to find out what Dropbox is :)

You are correct that KJots 4.4 loads its data only on application start. It has
been rewritten in 4.5 though and ported to Akonadi, so now the solution for
this bug is to write a Dropbox Akonadi resource or proxy resource with support
for notes. KJots will then use it automatically including auto-refresh.

[Bug 245301] Message list scroll bar doesn't work after deleting a message

2010-08-04 Thread Manuel Nickschas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245301

--- Comment #3 from Manuel Nickschas 2010-08-04

Talking to tokoe on IRC further narrows it down: It always breaks when the
message list is scrolled all the way down when *selecting* the message.
Deleting works fine if the message-to-be-deleted is selected when the scrollbar
is not at the bottom end (even if after selection you scroll down).

Excerpt from the conversation for future reference:

Sput: we were aware that this bug only happens with Qt4.7
Sput: but i thought it is also related to the akonadi port of kmail
Sput: however if it is reproducable with KMail 4.4 and Qt 4.7, then it
is definitely a bug in Qt
Sput: it happens when your scrollbar is visible and you have scrolled
it down to the end
Sput: i tracked it down to a different sequence of signal emission and
selection change
you need to *select* the message when the scrollbar is at the end
scrolling up, selecting a message, scrolling down, deleting works fine
scrolling down, selecting, scrolling up, deleting breaks
Sput: the code in the messagelist library reacts on a row removed
signal, stores the selection, checks some conditions and restores the selection
Sput: and somehow with qt 4.7 the selection is a different then with qt
4.6
Sput: iirc in 4.6 the selection is still the row to be removed, while
in 4.7 the selection is the row after/before the one to remove

shall I include the IRC log?
Sput: yes, but with a big disclaimer for 'if i recalled correctly'...

[Bug 245301] Message list scroll bar doesn't work after deleting a message

Just a thought, since it used to work correct in KMail-4.4 and then all of a
sudden started to break, maybe it's related to Qt 4.7? I hadn't used KMail in a
while, so I can't tell if it's directly related to my Qt upgrade, but I don't
assume there have been many changes in KMail-4.4 between the time I last used
it before the break and now...

I can confirm the issue with both KMail-4.4 and KMail2 from trunk. Looks like
the scrollbar is set to an invalid size or something like that, and also the
message list is scrolled to the top (if you have it sorted in ascending order).

[Bug 246430] when importing a vCard, zeros in the dates are required

2010-08-04 Thread John Layt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246430

--- Comment #5 from John Layt 2010-08-04 10:32:40 ---
I'm with Postel :-) If a user wishes to 'escape' from a program that doesn't
implement the standard properly and migrate to a program that does, then we
should try import all their data where reasonable.

I've checked and KDateTime::fromString() is also a 'generous' parser which
would better suit the task as it is always a Gregorian calendar.

[Bug 243321] Kmail can not check for new mail after awakening of my PC after suspend.

I think, the second comment explains why this is happening —
http://chenthill.wordpress.com/2010/01/11/evolution-with-improved-imap-support-imapx/

Quote:
... If you close the lid on your laptop so that it suspends for a few hours and
then open it, all the tcp-sessions will have timed out on the server but
Evolution may still think that they are alive and try using them. This leads to
very long timeouts before Evolution works correctly again after a resume.

[Bug 244630] Akonadi-crash on startup

2010-08-04 Thread Tobias Koenig
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244630

--- Comment #4 from Tobias Koenig 2010-08-04 08:59:45 ---
Hej,

this error message comes up when Strigi can not load the nepomukbackend plugin.
Can you check please whether $KDEDIR/lib/strigi contains a file
strigiindex_nepomukbackend.so and 'ldd
$KDEDIR/lib/strigi/strigiindex_nepomukbackend.so' doesn't report any missing
dependencies?

Ciao,
Tobias
