[Bug 247163] New: Kontact/Kmail crashing when deleting several unread messages

2010-08-09 Thread Irene Korff
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247163

Summary: Kontact/Kmail crashing when deleting several unread
messages
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: linuxb...@gmail.com

Application: kontact (4.4.2)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2)
Qt Version: 4.6.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
Kmail within Kontact crashes sometimes when I remove several unread messages at
once. The messages are on a remote Gmail server, and are read through IMAP. The
problem seems to occur with just one of my several Gmail-accounts, which I have
all set up to exclusively use IMAP. The mail for this particular account keeps
recurring, no matter if I permanently delete them, even through the Gmail web
interface. This is also true for really old mail from years ago. These mails
keep returning in my inbox as if they have just been sent. This started a few
weeks ago.

Of course, this could be a problem with Gmail, so I changed my pass and
tightened my security settings. The thing is that certain mails keep coming
back only in Kmail and not in my Maemo mail program in my phone, where I
configured the same account as well.

Some other strange behavior as of lately is that Kmail finds a few hundred new
messages in the aforementioned Gmail account, and then starts eliminating them
from my inbox until there are just a few left. The mails are still appearing in
the remote "all messages" folder. A crash had not happened to me before, but
the strange behaviour has been going on for several weeks now.

[Bug 247134] New: akonadi imap resource takes several days to sync Gmail account

2010-08-09 Thread Soren Harward
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247134

Summary: akonadi imap resource takes several days to sync Gmail
account
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
AssignedTo: er...@kde.org
ReportedBy: stharw...@gmail.com
CC: vkra...@kde.org, kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS:Linux

I have added by Gmail IMAP account to Akonadi several times in the past, but it
always took a long time to synchronize. Akonadi clients (like Kaddressbook and
Kontact) slowed to a crawl while it was synchronizing, and while the resource
was working on one folder, other folders would not get updated, so receiving
new emails was sporadic at best.

So this weekend I finally decided to create an IMAP resource for Gmail let the
synchronizing go all the way to completion. It has thus far taken 4 days to
sync about 800MB of mail, which is just ridiculously slow. And if I browse the
resource using the Akonadi Console, I can see the IMAP tree and it reports the
proper number of messages, but the folders don't appear to contain any messages
within them (ie, the right column in the Browser tab is completely blank), so
I'm not even sure that the messages have downloaded correctly. If Kmail is
going to start using Akonadi in a couple of months, this needs to be improved.

I am happy to help debug, but I really don't know much about Akonadi, so I'll
need instructions like "do steps A, B and C and tell us what happens".

Reproducible: Didn't try

The server log is full of messages like the following, which appear about once
every 30 seconds with a new item number:

[akonadiserver] ItemRetrieverException: Unable to retrieve item from resource:
Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did
not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply
timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
[akonadiserver] posting retrieval request for item 1612 there are 1 queues and
0 items in mine
[akonadiserver] checking if request for item 1612 has been processed...
[akonadiserver] request for item 1612 still pending - waiting

Does that indicate there is some kind of problem downloading items from Gmail?
And could the download problems be causing the slow sync, such as making it
wait for a timeout for every one of thousands of items?

[Bug 246435] kmail freezes

--- Comment #2 from Nancy Anthracite 2010-08-09
13:58:00 ---
I can tell you now that to reproduce this, all I have to do is reboot my
computer. Soon kmail will become close to 100% unresposive and in top,
virtuoso-t will be taking close to if not more than 100% of the processor and
killing it will fix kmail's problem.

By the way, the bug reporter keeps crashing so the only way to get this to you
is to paste this into the comment field and submit it immediatel

I can tell you now that to reproduce this, all I have to do is reboot my
computer. Soon kmail will become close to 100% unresposive and in top,
virtuoso-t will be taking close to if not more than 100% of the processor and
killing it will fix kmail's problem.

By the way, the bug reporter keeps crashing so the only way to get this to you
is to paste this into the comment field and submit it immediatel

[Bug 247131] New: Navigation keys stop working after password dialog

2010-08-09 Thread Martin van Es
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247131

Summary: Navigation keys stop working after password dialog
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: mail
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: b...@mrvanes.com

Version: 4.4.5 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS:Linux

When selecting an encrypted mail a PGP password dialog appears to let me enter
my decryption password. After that I can't use my arrow keys and delete button
anymore to navigate through the message list.

Just checked and for some reason the control is back now, so it only disappears
for a while or until some condition has been met (change app and back?)

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Navigate to or click on encrypted message.
Enter password in pwd dialog.
Try to move up and down in message list or delete a message.

Actual Results:
Arrow keys and delete button don't work.

Expected Results:
I expect to move up and down the messagelist and that messages can be deleted
using the delete button.

As said in the report, for some reason control reappeared while reporting this
bug. Maybe switching application was enough? I guess it's a keyboard focus
problem.

[Bug 247129] New: When we subscribe collection entitytreemodel doesn't show it

2010-08-09 Thread Laurent Montel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247129

Summary: When we subscribe collection entitytreemodel doesn't
show it
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: libakonadi
AssignedTo: vkra...@kde.org
ReportedBy: mon...@kde.org
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

I used last trunk version of akonadi/kdepimlibs/kdepim.
When I use "Manage Local Subscription" dialogbox to subscribe collection,
signal is emitted so no problem but collection is not added to ETM.

I debug it and I can see that:
in: void EntityTreeModelPrivate::monitoredCollectionAdded( const
Akonadi::Collection& collection, const Akonadi::Collection& parent )
{

qDebug()<<" collection :"< we can see that when we add collection, "contents mime type: () " is empty
=> it can add it.

So there is a bug here. I think that collection is not fetched.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Unsubscribe a collection => you can see this is removed from ETM
Subscribe this collection => it's not added.

Kontact crashed when dragged some mails from one folder to other. Steps I made:
1) Filtered mails with "Mantis Bug Tracker" text.
2) Selected all the mails that complied the filter and dragged to a child
folder of the current folder.
3) Kontact crashed when released mouse with the attached error.

My folders use maildir. I can't reproduce the error.
