[Bug 249386] kmail crash when opening a message that contains only a calendar invitation
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=249386 --- Comment #1 from avner jungo com 2010-08-29 07:59:38 --- Created an attachment (id=51075) -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=51075) this patch solved the problem attached a straight forward solution patch. I applied it today, and reinstalled the fixed package. now kmail works for me, and the problematic message (and alike) is shown appropriately. however, I don't know if this breaks something else. I have used the new version for 1 hour only since. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

Insults? - John How about appreciation? Is it possible to get a page on the KDE or Trinity site where we could make our pledges, have them publicly listed (anonymously or not) along with a progress report on how we are doing? The link could be added to this bug and promoted. Seems like a very achievable goal. I am more than willing to trust you to escrow the funds. I am a trusting fellow and besides, I believe your online reputation is worth more than $1,500. That and if I lose my $40, I will be ticked-off but not devastated. I also trust that you have chosen wisely in selecting a programmer to implement this. The statement of work is both broad and specific enough to meet my need and give him some latitude in implementation. My only comment here is that he may have underestimated the required effort. It is hard to be optimistic after having waited for so long... but what is that I see... [Bug 249452] New: New Message Template is different from Reply to Template (confusing)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=249452 Summary: New Message Template is different from Reply to Template (confusing) Product: kmail Version: 1.13.2 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: composer AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: a...@al-williams.com Version: 1.13.2 (using KDE 4.4.2) OS:Linux Not sure if this is really a bug now that I think I understand it. Using Kmail 1.13.2 (KDE 4.4.2) I have been trying to get templates to work. I created 3 custom universal templates. If I right click on a message I can select reply with template and then see a list of my templates. If I pick one it works. Fine. But I want to create new messages with the templates. If I go to File | New | New Message from template, I just get a no templates popout. So now I see that if I compose a new e-mail and save it as a template then it shows up in the File | New menu and it is in my templates folder. So it looks like the File menu gets its templates from one source (the templates folder) and the reply/forward gets it from the settings. I'm not sure what the desired behavior is. Could be as simple as documenting that the Settings templates are not used for new mail, or calling one of them something other than templates. Maybe its only me that finds this confusing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Well like I said... Create a universal template in the Composer tab of Configure KMail. Actual Results: Template does not appear in File | New | New Message from template Expected Results: I'd expect a universal template to show up there I'm marking this as a new feature request because I don't think it is a bug per se. But the Configure KMail dialog should have some explanation that these are not the same templates as used for creating a new mail and/or change the name. This is especially confusing because of: http://maketecheasier.com/create-custom-email-templates-in-kmail/2010/01/04 -- which I realize is not kde cannon, but has incorrect information in it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

All good so far. Now try writing http://websvn.kde.org/*checkout*/trunk/l10n-kde4/templates/messages/kdelibs/kdelibs4.pot Even if it is a much shorter url it will get split in - character making the url wrong. I have been reading your updates to the bug-report.I guess you are a not a kmail developer, but a very advanced user of KDE. Your mails referred to configuring in 'systemsettings' in personal information, but I could not find any such thing.Today, I figured out it is sysyemsettings Advnaed KDE Resources.Your other description is also not very clear. That place is very confusing again.I could find 'default address book' entry there, but went on to add one more per your suggestion. Now address completion seems to work. I think if you are not a kmail developer, you should not close this.Address book functionality should be equal in feature or better and use of ease with other standard mail clients like Evolution,Thunderbird, outlook. This juggling should be unnecessary. It is not about getting it to work for you and me.It is about bringing this to Kmail-developer's attention and getting it addressed there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
