[Bug 248395] Akonadi imap resource crashed in background

2010-09-14 Thread Lindsay Roberts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=248395

Created an attachment (id=51660)
 --> (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=51660)
New crash information added by DrKonqi

akonadi_imap_resource (0.1) on KDE Platform 4.5.68 (4.6 >= 20100912) "release
4" using Qt 4.7.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Similar to the above report, the imap resource crashes periodically in the
background.

- Custom settings of the application:

This is trunk KDE/KDEPIM from the OpenSUSE trunk repositories, version
4.5.68svn1174542, with Qt 4.7rc1. I've had these periodic crashes with the svn
versions since the akonadi mail migration (more specifically since non-UIDPLUS
was implemented).

The server is non-UIDPLUS, Exchange 2007, connected with TLS, configured
offline, with specific subscribed folders.

The only other interesting tidbit is other IMAP clients often see completely
blank messages at or near the top of the message list, these have no recipient,
sender or subject, and a single textual attachment. This seems to be an
artifact of the Enterprise Vault addon product.

Unfortunately not desirable to backport on 4.5, this fix actually depends on
the large refactoring which happened in trunk. Such a large change is a rather
bad idea for a patch release.

What exactly happens here?

In "steps to reproduce" you should tell what actions did you take for problem
to appear.

Btw, I see no akonadi errors so it's set up properly. If there's was a crash,
you should obtain backrace and add it here.

Please read:

I agree on the last point, if it's not filled by akonadi debug, it could be
something else.

The fix should come from the distro side. See for example
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/60448 (yes, it's a few years old)

There are two workarounds :
* run kdebugdialog and check the "Disable all debug output" box,
* Delete the .xsession-errors file after starting KDE if you don't need it
a one line script in ~/.kde/Autostart should be enough (eg: sleep 10 && rm -f
$HOME/.xsession-errors)

Please try the following steps:

- Quit akonadi tray
- in a terminal, run 'kdebugdialog' and look for 'akonaditray' check the box
then 'ok'

- Now run akonaditray for the terminal and try to reproduce.

Akonaditray should be more verbose

yes it does! It looks like this:

[Spelling]
backgroundCheckerEnabled=true
checkUppercase=true
checkerEnabledByDefault=true
defaultClient=
defaultLanguage=de_DE
skipRunTogether=true

[Bug 248446] Kolab resource displayed in Folder view when adding an account

Hi Sabine,

Are you able to navigate into the kolab folder when it is there and open items?

Please test after r1175276, which unhides some folders in the ui. I think what
you saw is a configuration issue in the kolab server. After that revision you
might see the kolab one all the time, but maybe we can fix the config issue in
the server if that's the case.

All the best,

Steve.

[Bug 251123] Error creating default collection on kmail-mobile startup

SVN commit 1175262 by vkrause:

Don't show this message box for now, it's too often triggered on the
N900 without good reason (probably a too small timeout).

[Bug 251220] New: Kleopatra prompts for Passphrase, if you change focus, you can't get back to the passphrase window

2010-09-14 Thread Brian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=251220

Summary: Kleopatra prompts for Passphrase, if you change focus,
you can't get back to the passphrase window
   Product: kleopatra
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: bb...@perkspot.com
CC: m...@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using KDE 1.2)
OS:MS Windows

If you change focus during the passphrase process, you lose the passphrase
window and there is no way to get back to the prompt window without rebooting
the pc.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Go to the main Kleopatra window.
Select Decrypt file.
Select file.
Kleopatra prompts for the passphrase.
Change window focus to another window. (say, a text file where the passphrase
is stored).
The passphrase prompt window is gone.
The decrypt window will not proceed.
Canceling and retrying the decrypt will not work as Kleopatra has cached the
blank passphrase (?)
Restarting Kleopatra or GPGA has no effect.
Rebooting the PC is the only way to be prompted again.

Expected Results:
Returning focus to Kleopatra should bring the passphrase window into view.

the accounts i added where "empty" accounts (no folders, few/none mails).
After I created a folder and moved a mail into it (using kontact stationary),
the account showed up in kmail-mobile. I am however not sure if that was the
cause (i.e. did not try to reproduce).

Happened in 4:4.5~20100910.1174804-1maemo2.1174786.

In Version 4:4.5~20100910.1174804-1maemo2.1174786 , after looking at an outbox

With 4:4.5~20100910.1174804-1maemo2.1174786 , kmail-mobile performs very poor
again (very inresponsive to input).
Also, htop shows a constant 100% of CPU consumption by kmail-mobile.

--- Comment #1 from Tobias Koenig 2010-09-14 10:07:55 ---
Hej,

KAddressBook in 4.4 is a complete rewrite from scratch, therefor not all
features of the 4.3 version made it into 4.4 in time.

> 1.1. The ability to categorise the address book entry (that is, categorise an
> entry as, for example, "manufacturer", "client", "colleague", etc.),
Back in 4.5

> 1.2. The ability to create custom fields.
Back in 4.5

> 1.3. The ability to apply changes to an address book entry without having to
> close the entry.
Won't come back, that's how the new Akonadi based address book works.

> 1.4. The ability to copy an address book entry and paste it as a duplicate
> entry in the address book for subsequent use as a template to create similar
> entries.
You mean pasting in the same address book you copied it from? Hmm, true, can
you file a separated bug report for this, please?

> 1.5. The ability to select the type of entry, such as "organization", "reverse
> name with Comma", etc., has been SEVERELY curtailed.
Already available in 4.4. You can select the format of the display name with
the combobox in the contact editor.

> 2. Many other features are missing thus rendering the current address book
> (namely, version 4.4.2) very INFERIOR compared to the previous version.
Most of these issues have already been fixed in KDE-PIM 4.5. Feel free to test.

> 3. These are SERIOUS DEFICIENCIES in the product.
KAddressBook 4.4 is the first application that makes use of the new PIM access
library Akonadi. This is completely new technology which still had issues in
this early phase, however in 4.5 it has improved a lot.

Ciao,
Tobias
