[Bug 253476] New: All IMAP folders show "No messages in this folder"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=253476 Summary: All IMAP folders show "No messages in this folder" Product: KMail Mobile Version: unspecified Platform: Maemo 5 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: k...@opensource.sf-tec.de Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS:Linux This happens since I upgraded to the version announced on 2010-09-21, but also happens with the version announced yesterday. I started with a clean config and configured my IMAP accounts (using "generic IMAP server"). The folder hierarchy is shown correctly, but all folders are empty. It doesn't look like this is related to the actual amount of messages in the folder, the message shows up for each folder immediately. I've started KMail and waited for like 2 hours to see if it was syncing anything in background but nothing has happened. If I start up KMail and immediately select this account I see that it is loading the folder list as that does not immediately appear. But later on nothing changes. I use local folder subscriptions if that matters in any way. [Bug 230247] Akonadi::Control::start() does not work
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230247 --- Comment #23 from Maciej Mrozowski 2010-10-07 00:44:31 --- Take a look at akonadi log I posted here some time ago (and what other people said as well before) - Akonadi *doesn't* crash or report *any* issue - yet self-test dialog appears - I suppose it rules out database corruptions and XDG_ issues right from the start, do you agree? The source you're interested in is in kdepimlibs as it's where Akonadi server control library is implemented (akonadi server itself just provides DBus API). Please digg there. As for why it does not happen for everyone - if I knew that it would be probably fixed already. Possible answers: race conditions or improperly or too optimistic timeouts set - so depending on machine performance. Akonadi::Control class uses timers and other workarounds to simulate synchroneous (blocking) startup/shutdown (which is otherwise natively event based). This bug has been voted by a few people and it has a few duplicates so it's quite safe to assume issue is present. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 249864] Can select arbitray file as data source for Account
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=249864 --- Comment #1 from Bertjan Broeksema 2010-10-06 18:36:41 --- I get a file dialog that is filtered by default on ICS/VCS. Do you have this as well? If not, that would be a bug, note though that I test this on a desktop computer (running korganizer-mobile of course). I'm not sure how much sense it would make to disallow other files than those ending with .ics or .vcs. [Bug 230247] Akonadi::Control::start() does not work
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230247 --- Comment #22 from Lamarque V. Souza 2010-10-06 16:13:45 --- Maybe, but XDG_DATA_DIRS is very easy to test, if you had used just a few minutes to do it and a little more openness in your mind you could have checked it out of instead just dumping a suggestion with no real reason. I used to have a problem with exactly same symptoms, correctly setting XDG_DATA_DIRS solved it for me. I could have just forgotten about this bug, since I do not have it anymore, it is not my problem anymore, but instead I tried to help, because that is the attitude we should have when someone needs help and we have something that may help, and you just dumped my suggestion without even trying to check it out. With attitude like yours why anybody here would step up to help? Just do be dumped too? > which is: > > Actually Akonadi::Control::start() may even work well (return proper status), > but... akonadi self-test dialog box is displayed *nevertheless*, and when it's > clicked it terminates application so end effect is identical as > Akonadi::Control::start() returned false despite the fact Akonadi started > successfully.. Ok, so let's try your comment. I really do not understand how that could happen. Me and several other people do not have this problem (I used to, but not anymore as I said), if things happen the way you said everybody should have this problem. How did you find that out? I looked at akonadi, akonadi-server and kmail's source code yesterday but I do not see how what you described could happen for some people and not for everybody. Maybe it is a suttle corruption in akonadi's database, that would explain why not everybody have this problem. You can try deleting the database and restarting everything again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

So I close this bug because it is possible now to create subtasks, even though it doesn't look like that in the treeview currently. I checked by creating a subtask and opening korganizer (desktop version) with the same Akonadi data and the task indeed shows up as a subtask there. Now, multiple issues occur (not all always reproducible): - Collapsed tree view shows wrong number of mails - "Home" does not allow to reaccess the tree view - Select Button does not allow to change selection - Collapsed tree view shows accounts under a folder If these do not stem from the same underlying issue, ask me to open separate issues.
