[Bug 253927] New: when I start kde all my knotes stack on top of each other at the location of the last note

2010-10-12 Thread davidblunkett
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=253927

Summary: when I start kde all my knotes stack on top of each
other at the location of the last note
   Product: knotes
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: dav1dblunk...@hotmail.com

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS:Linux

When kde starts all my knotes stack on top of each other at the location of the
last note made rather than resume their previous locations. This is a bit
annoying because the point of knotes is to leave reminders, if they stack then
it is easy to lose one

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
place 2 or more knotes at various locations, restart kde and they are stacked.

Actual Results:
knotes windows are all on top of each other

Expected Results:
knotes windows should resume at their previous locations (in this case spread
around)

[Bug 253933] New: add context menu entry 'display note in panel'

2010-10-12 Thread Christoph Thielecke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=253933

Summary: add context menu entry 'display note in panel'
   Product: knotes
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: criss...@gmx.de

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

It would be nice to have a context menu entry 'display note in panel' for quick
access to enable displaying note in window list. The entry should be in the
context menu shown if the user clicks right on the title bar

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
do right click on the title bar on new created note

Actual Results:
context menu is shown but no entry 'display note in panel'

Expected Results:
context menu is shown entry 'display note in panel' is shown too

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.36-rc6

Several of these issues have been fixed by now, could you please retest and
ideally open one report per remaining issue, makes it much easier to track
what's done already and what's still to do.

they were still unreadable.
(With a lot of luck you can press a button, but also you cannot select
a preference for the sync process.)

--- Comment #5 from Bernhard E. Reiter 2010-10-12

BTw: Conflicts should be easy to detect:
Use two clients on one folder, switch off automatic sync with both (e.g.
disconnect them from the network) change the object, e.g. an appointment.
Then sync both again. The second client to sync must get a conflict message.

Kontact Mobile on the n900:

Package: libqt4-experimental-gui

in the "Mail" frontend in the top menu it says "Application"
while in "Notes" frontend it say "KNotes", both labels should not be there,
either it should be "Frontend" or something similiar everywhere
or it should be more specific like the labels of the frontends:
  Mail
  Calendar
  Contacts
  Tasks
  Notes

"Application" is missleading, because the backend part of the appliction
is not closed, it keeps running when you close the frontend.

"KNotes" is missleading because the user is not confronted with technical
components names, the new branding in this case would be "Notes", but this
might be to plain for the menu entry. "Frontend Notes" or "General" might
be alternatives.

I can confirm this: using IMAP, gmail account, when creating a filter based on
subject or from fields, running filters are very slow and makes impossible to
read any message. I'm on KDE 4.5.1, Kubuntu.

[Bug 190617] kmail crashed if to address changed while sending reply

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=190617

--- Comment #19 from Thomas 2010-10-12 21:47:47 ---
Created an attachment (id=52462)
 --> (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=52462)
New crash information added by DrKonqi

Address completion did not work, so I entered the whole address manually and
sent the mail (with Ctrl.+Enter).
I was then back on my Firefox reading online articles (1-2minutes) when Kmail
crashed "in the background" and the CrashReport-Dialog popped up (without any
further interaction within Kontact from my side during this 1-2 minutes, but
maybe the scheduled time to fetch new mails was reached or something similar)

[Bug 254007] New: knode hangs when a link is exactly as wide as the window

2010-10-12 Thread Jens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254007

Summary: knode hangs when a link is exactly as wide as the
window
   Product: knode
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: jens.schmidt...@gmx.de

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS:Linux

I have knode running within kontact. Whenever a message contains a link and the
link ends at the right border of the message subwindow, knode hangs together
with kontact.
This will happen again when opening the same message, unless another window
width is selected before.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
View any newsgroup messages, select one with a link in the text, adjust the
window width so that the link ends at the right border.

Actual Results:
The application hangs. The only way ahead is an external crash (aka kill) and
then restart.

Expected Results:
Continued service.

2010-10-12 Thread Will Blaylock
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254009

Summary: akonadi server not loading, kde-pim crashes trying to
configure
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: wbla...@xmission.com

Application: kontact (4.4.2)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2)
Qt Version: 4.6.2

-- Information about the crash:
After working for a couple of minutes to get my randomly working external mysql
database configured and the server started

One time I load kontact it just works, the next time it can not start the
akonadi server and errors out, once I finally get it to recognize the mysql
server and start akonadi it will work for several times then will give me grief
again.

The external server or using the internal one does not seem to make a
difference, same behavior.

[Bug 254012] New: crashes every time I access configure kontact

Summary: crashes every time I access configure kontact
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR

Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-25-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
I now have no access at all to kontact or the configuration menu

I do not use kmail but have not to my understanding removed or otherwise
unconfigured it in kde-pim.

Kmail still comes up when I click some links and file types such as .eml and
seems to function.

After the last report however I have not been able to get the random
functioning to function. *every time* I click configure menu I get this crash
now.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Hi Martin,

What is the CalDav server that you are trying to connect to (software +
version)? From what you are describing it looks like the resource cannot find
valid tags that describe a user's calendar.

Cheers,
Grégory

btw, trivial to reproduce:
 - killall -SEGV kmail
 - in KDE crash handler, click "Restart Application"
 - box pops up saying "kmail seems to already be running"
