This is not fixed ATM because i can experience bad sync between imap folders
and client:

Since i decided to try kmail 2.0 (beta1) to help debug i configured an ipod
touch for emails as a backup. Sometimes kmail warns me about new email before
the iPod and that's fine. But when the opposite happens, and i read the email
from the ipod, this email never arrives into kmail inbox folder. No matter if i
shut down and reopen kmail or how many times i try to sync the folder both with
ricght click on the folder or via check mail button.

[Bug 256129] New: kmail does not remember Display Tooltips setting in message list

2010-11-05 Thread Roman Fietze
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256129

Summary: kmail does not remember Display Tooltips setting in
message list
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: r...@fietze-home.de

Version: 1.13.5 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

I can select any item inside the message list using right mouse in the header
of this list, e.g. Sender, Receiver, Size, etc. All these settings are
remembered properly, even across a restart of kontact/kmail.

I can deselect Display Tooltips as well and it works, but this setting is not
remembered across a restart of kmail, and I have to deselect it every time
again.

Reproducible: Always

[Bug 256147] New: Configure Filters dialogue too wide to fit N900 screen

2010-11-05 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256147

Summary: Configure Filters dialogue too wide to fit N900 screen
   Product: KMail Mobile
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

Some of the functionalities from the configure filters dialogue cannot be
accessed because the dialogue is too wide for the N900 screen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Home'
- Click on 'Configure Filters'
- The Configure Filters dialogue opens
- Scroll down to the Actions section
- Click on the first button and select 'Move into folder'

Actual Results:
A line edit appear next to the 'Move Into folder' button but it is not possible
to type text into it so I am guessing that there is a browse button next to it.

However, the dialogue being too wide for the N900 screen it is impossible for
the user to reach that button atm (see snapshot enclosed).

Expected Results:
It should be possible to access all the buttons and options on the right hand
side of the dialogue that are not displayed atm.

The dialogue should fit the N900 screen.

I am setting this bug as high priority since it prevents me to test some of the
functionalities of this dialogue.

Regarding comment #1: the pb is not only that the buttons are too wide but that
there is also some functionalities missing there (see Kmail desktop version of
this dialogue in Settings menu for reference).

So this bug is in fact a blocker since it prevents me to test applying basic
filters.

Hi,

If you rearrange the column headings in the message list and restart Kmail, the
column positions revert to the original position.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Swap column one and column two.
2. Restart kmail

Actual Results:
After restarting kmail, column one and column two are back the way they were
before the swapping.

Expected Results:
When columns are reordered, kmail should persist the change so when restarted,
it remembers the user's choice(s).

--- Comment #5 from Bernhard E. Reiter bernhard intevation de 2010-11-05

I have just upgraded to akonadi-server
1.4.53.201011051121.git55c13b4-1maemo1.1193228
and I can still send emails.

Also version 1.4.52.20101022.svn1188491-1maemo1
is really newer than 1.4.52.svn1183813-1maemo1.1183786_armel.deb
you can see this from the svn version number. The explicit command
was only necessary because apt believes it is older because of a packaging
version number issue (that is known and now solved as you can see above.)

Volker told me that this kind of defect was fixed with svn1186987.

Two possibilites:
Sabine either has different defect. So you could possible de-dublicate
the other issue.

Or she did not not delete the old messages in the outbox.
It seems that old messages do no revocer from the problem, so even an explicit
sending will not sent them out

(Of course other configuration issues could be there as well.)

--- Comment #5 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-11-05 18:00:10 ---
I can now send and receive emails properly so I am closing this bug.

The pb was due to the fact that I had several emails with no remote id stuck in
my outbox. Deleting them from Akonadi Console - Browser tab and restarting
Akonadi server solved the pb.

The latest snapshot packages contain the mobile interface for Kleopatra instead
of the desktop one. There are still a few glitches, but let's track those
individually.

[Bug 256176] New: Fwd email sent in outbox after email succesfully sent

2010-11-05 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256176

Summary: Fwd email sent in outbox after email succesfully sent
   Product: KMail Mobile
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

A few seconds after an email has been successfully sent another copy of the
email is send again automatically (as forwarded) for no reason and gets stuck
in the outbox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Click on your Local Folders outbox and check that there is no email stuck in
it (if there are any delete them from Akonadi console - browser tab)
- Click on 'Home' from folder view
- Click on 'Write new Email' button
- Fill in a subject (Email A), a recipient (your imap account) and a few words
in the Composer text editor
- Click on 'send'
- A yellow pop up dialogue appears saying: 'E-mail successfully sent'
- A few seconds later another yellow pop up dialogue appears saying the same
thing
- Go to your Local Folder sent-mail
- You can see that the email you sent is correctly stored there and if you
check your imap inbox you will see that the email has been properly received
too.
- Now go in your Local Folders outbox

Actual Results:
There is an unrequested 'Fwd: Email A' stuck in your outbox which was sent on
its own (hence the second yellow pop up dialogue I think).

Expected Results:
There should not be any forwarded message stuck in the outbox after an email
has been successfully sent and stored in the sent-mail folder.

Remove the resizeEvent hack, and add another one: a small wrapper class for

I wasn't using the application directly, it was running in the background - it
was only visible as an icon in the system tray. Also at startup the application
is being launched twice.
- Custom settings of the application:
I'm using the IMAP and SMTP protocols and the aplication is set to run
continuously in the system tray and show new messages as they arrive.

--- Comment #1 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-11-05 22:21:15 ---
I found out why I had this bug:

- I created a filter forwarding any emails sent to my imap inbox to my kde
address this morning to test filters.
- But I did not realized that I did not have any SMTP transport configured for
my imap account

I realized that none of my kde emails were sent properly while testing
forwarding functionalities so David mentioned that I should configure my SMTP
transport.
Then I realized that my imap inbox emails were forwarded to my kde inbox so I
remembered the filter I set and removed it.

Since I configured SMTP transport no emails are stuck anymore in my outbox so I
am closing this bug as it was not a real bug just a configuration pb.

Sorry about that.

Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

There are several display problems when forwarding an email as attachment.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Click on 'Write new Email'
- Fill in subject(Email 1), recipient (your imap inbox) and a few words in the
composer text editor (ex:initial message sent with a long description to detect
any display bugs)
- Click on 'Send'
- Click on Email 1 to read it
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Email'
- Click and hold 'Forward'
- Click on 'Forward as Attachment' button
- Enter a subject (ex: Email 2), a recipient (your imap inbox) and a few words
in the composer text editor (ex: forwarded message test with a long description
to see if it is displayed at all)
- Click on 'Send'
- Email 2 is properly sent and received
- Click on Email 2 to display its content
- Email 2 attachment (ie Email 1) is automatically opened so it can be read.

Actual Results:
However Email 1's description is displayed underneath the 'End of encapsulated
message'.

Also the description that was entered in Email 2 is not displayed at all.

Expected Results:
The initial email description should be displayed above the 'End of
encapsulated message' warning.

Email 2 description should be displayed in the email body.

[Bug 256194] New: No 'Mark as no longer important' button

2010-11-05 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256194

Summary: No 'Mark as no longer important' button
   Product: KMail Mobile
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

Once the user has set an email as important if he wants to remove that setting
he has to click on the 'Mark as Important' again which does not seem logical.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Click on your Imap inbox
- Click on an email to display its content
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Email'
- Click on 'Mark As...'
- Click on 'Mark as Important' button
- Click on the small icon at the bottom right to go back to the message viewer
- There is now an exclamation point transparent icon over the email subject you
selected to show that it is marked as important
- Click on the email again
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Email'
- Click on 'Mark As...'

Actual Results:
The user has to reclick on 'Mark as Important' to remove the Mark as important
exclamation point from the email subject in the Message viewer.

Expected Results:
This does not seem logical.

It would be better to have another button called 'Mark as no longer important'
or to change the 'Mark as Important' button label depending if the option is on
or off.

The same bug can be found with the 'Mark as Action Item' button since there is
no 'Mark as no longer an Action Item' button.

[Bug 256197] New: tray icon open KMail on current desktop instead of original desktop

Summary: tray icon open KMail on current desktop instead of

   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: yu...@avrasoft.com

Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS:Linux

Opening KMail in any way from the try icon opens the window on the current
desktop rather than on the desktop where KMail was open. This is a change in
behaviour from KDE 3.5.10, perhaps intentional, but annoying for
multiple-desktop users who like to leave KMail on a single desktop. Perhaps
this behavious can be configurable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a desktop that doesn't display KMail. 2. Use the tray icon to see new
messages in... 3. See Kmail appear on the current desktop. The old behaviour
was to switch to the desktop KMail was on before.

[Bug 256198] New: 'Mark as Action Item' can not be set and unset in a row

2010-11-05 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256198

Summary: 'Mark as Action Item' can not be set and unset in a
row
   Product: KMail Mobile
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified
OS:Linux

If the user marks an email as an action item but realizes that he made a
mistake and wants to remove it immediatelly it does not work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail- mobile
- Click on your Imap inbox
- Click on an email
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Email'
- Click on 'Mark as...'
- Click on 'Mark as Action Item' button
- Go back to the Message List
- A 3 dots transparent icon is displayed on the email subject as it should
- Click on the email again
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Email'
- Click on 'Mark as...'
- Click on 'Mark as Action Item' button

Actual Results:
Nothing happens. The 3 dots transparent icon is not removed

Expected Results:
The 3 dots transparent icon should properly be removed.

Note: atm the only way to remove the unwanted icon is to do the following steps
again:
- Reclick on the email
- Reopen the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Email'
- Click on 'Mark as...'
- Click on 'Mark as Action Item' button

This time the icon is properly removed.

But each time you want to reset it or remove it from an email in a row you have
to click on the 'Mark as Action Item' button one more time than necessary ie in
our example to set and unset it that button needs to be clicked 3 times whereas
only 2 times should be enough

Sometimes this bug is also reproductible with the 'Mark as Important' button
too.

2010-11-05 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256200

Summary: Impossible to modify email title when using 'Send
Again' functionality
   Product: KMail Mobile
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

It is impossible to edit the email subject atm when using the 'Send Again'
functionality whereas it is possible in Kmail desktop version.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Click on an email from your imap inbox
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Email'
- Click on 'Send Again'
- The email content opens in a Composer

Actual Results:
The user can edit the recipient(s) and the description but he cannot edit the
subject.

Expected Results:
The user should be able to edit the email subject as this is a very useful and
basic feature that can be be found in Kmail desktop version.

[Bug 256208] New: KMail crashes every time it's started (doesn't work at all)

2010-11-05 Thread Vladimir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256208

Summary: KMail crashes every time it's started (doesn't work at
all)
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.2
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: c21v...@aol.com

Application: kontact (4.4.2)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2) (Compiled from sources)
Qt Version: 4.6.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-25-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
I don't even know how it got to this. One day I came home from work and KMail
had failed to retrieve my e-mails from 2 accounts. Then, I clicked on Check
for Mail button but nothing happened. After this I decided to re-start
KMail... I closed the application and it never started again -- this crash
report window pops up instead.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
