[Bug 265313] New: imap fetching hangs after disconnect and reconnect

Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. retrieve stuff via imap 2. disconnect internet 3. reconnect internet Actual Results: The imap protocoll hangs and does not do anything useful anymore. In order to get a working kmail back you have to do the following: 1. close kontact 2. killall kontact 3. restart kontact If you miss step 2 imap retrieving in kmail/kontact still hangs I encountered this bug on all kmail versions and all computers I tried so far. This includes kmail in KDE 4.3, 4.4 and the new akonadie based 4.6 (4.5 was never released). This bug is especially annoying if use a laptop + wlan: 1. start kmail 2. do sth in kmail 3. sleep you laptop (this causes the disconnect) 4. awake your laptop (this causes the reconnect) - kmail's imap stuff doesn't do anything useful anymore. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265155 --- Comment #5 from Ivan Vasin nisavid gmail com 2011-02-03 19:01:53 --- (In reply to comment #4) Using an external Postgres server is not supported. then why is it an option in AkonadiTray? why is it, in fact, the only option? are you implying that Akonadi can be configured to run its own postgres process? for MySQL, there is a checkbox in AkonadiTray to Use internal MySQL server, but there is no such option for PostgreSQL. simply clearing all of the settings for the external server and running ``akonadictl start`` triggers an error, Cannot connect to PostgreSQL server., and subsequent related errors. i don't see anything obvious in $HOME/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc that would indicate a setting to use an internal server. after clearing external server settings via AkonadiTray, for my QPSQL section i have: [QPSQL] Name= Host= User= Password= Port= Options= ServerPath=/usr/lib/postgresql/8.4/bin/pg_ctl InitDbPath=/usr/lib/postgresql/8.4/bin/initdb StartServer=true You may add standard_conforming_strings = on to your system postgresql config. indeed, this resolves the issue. thanks! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

When I click such message, it feels like kmail2 downloads it from the server (it takes a few seconds), and displays properly. The fields of that email remain unset on the message list. After I open a different folder, and come back to the inbox, those messages are gone (have proper field values set and are in the right place of the list - way down the list). [Bug 265363] New: PIN Entry Window Fails to pop with MS Outlook send operation
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265363 Summary: PIN Entry Window Fails to pop with MS Outlook send operation Product: kleopatra Version: 0.40 (KDE 3.x) Platform: Unlisted Binaries OS/Version: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: jpro...@verizon.net CC: m...@kde.org Version: 0.40 (KDE 3.x) OS:MS Windows When sending the first message from MS Outlook after opening the applcation, the PIN Entry dialog window fails to appear at all - even in background; causing Outlook to hang and requiring a forced shutdown of Outlook in order to bring the PIN Entry dialog window out. This also causes the message being sent to be lost with no recovery option. If the PIN Entry cache is cleared anytime between restarting Outlook and sending the first message and sending a subsequent message, again Outlook hangs and the forced-shutdown, PIN Entry and Outlook restart process is again necessary. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: To manually reproduce this problem, close Outlook and Kleopatra; the last step causes the PIN cache to clear; then reopen Kleopatra and the Outlook application in that order. Draft a new e-mail and attempt to send. Actual Results: On the last send in Steps to Reproduce, Kleopatra should pop the PIN Entry dialog box to the foreground - but doesn't even open it in the background. Outlook hangs and you have to kill the Send along with OUTLOOK to get the PIN Entry box open. Expected Results: IF pincache = , then open, in foreground, the PIN Entry dialog box.
