[Bug 86423] Ability To Reply To HTML Email With Same HTML Format As It Was Received

Average non-techie user here. As I have no coding experience whatsoever in this
environment, my thinking here may be completely off base, and I will be happy
to be enlightened by those who actually know what they are talking about.
Anyway:

I'm not sure I understand exactly why this feature would be so complicated to
implement. An email comes to you in HTML format, and Kmail displays it as such.
You hit Reply, and the composer accepts HTML formatting and displays your
formatted text as you enter it. Kmail should not have to actually do anything
extra to *get* the inserted Reply text into HTML format; it came in that way,
and is just being inserted into an editor already capable of understanding and
displaying HTML on the fly. Kmail must be actively *doing* something extra to
convert the original HTML into plain text, invoking routines that strip out the
tags and replace them with * and / and whatnot. Is it really such a big deal to
just stop the program from doing that, and instead of doing the extra work to
process the existing HTML into plain text, just have it insert what it *already
has* into your reply? Ideally with a checkbox that lets you strip the HTML or
not at your discretion? It doesn't seem to me like it would involve any major
start-from-scratch code rewrite or anything. But like I say, this is coming
just from my own ignorance of what might be involved.

Add me to the roster of users who really like Kmail/Kontact, but quite honestly
can't use it because of this issue.

[Bug 86423] Ability To Reply To HTML Email With Same HTML Format As It Was Received

2011-03-08 Thread Tomas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86423

--- Comment #210 from Tomas nicco ts gmail com 2011-03-08 11:56:55 ---
(In reply to comment #209)
It is complicated, because you must be able to edit the inserted text you are
replying to. So you need editor which can transform user GUI actions to HTML
code and in addition this editor must understand standardize HTML and Microsoft
(Outlook + Word) HTML like Zimbra or Thuderbird do.
For example:
embedded images, tables, fonts and colors inside tables/cells, bullets, ...
Anyway use Thunderbird. It is not so perfect as Outlook (in terms of
functionality) as it has some bugs and missing some functionality, but is
better as Kmail.

Debug output of adding an attendee

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Windows CE

1. Create new Appointment
2. Add an attendee (Either using autocompletion or manually)
3. Try to add a second attendee or change the page in the dialog
- You can not input anything, you can not change the dialog or move the flap.
Cursor can still be moved but all inputs are only handled after some seconds.

Attached is the debug output from adding andre-test2.heine...@demo.kolab.org
using autcompletion from ldap data.

Reproducible: Always

I would be satisfied if the program could just display to the sender his
original message withouth misformatting it. The ability to edit the original

Hi,

The DAV resource does not work with kdepim 4.4.x unfortunately. You'll can test
the latest KDE PIM rc once available, which should happen soon now.

Cheers,
Grégory

Are there any hints on how to further debug the issue? Kmail without importing
local folders is pretty useless.

[Bug 267999] Crash and egroupware

--- Comment #2 from Rodrigo Bernardo rodrigobernardo55 hotmail com

Thank you.

But I would like to let you know that I managed to contact my addressbook not
from a remote machine, but within the same server. I could not reproduce that
within the LAN, though.

On that machine I have an address book set for eGroupware (traditional) and it
read the egroupware addressbook and imported it. I am not sure how it has
happened, though.

Best regards

[Bug 268035] New: Images in folder view do not keep aspect ratio

2011-03-08 Thread Rolf Eike Beer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268035

Summary: Images in folder view do not keep aspect ratio
   Product: KAddressbook Mobile
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Maemo 5
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: k...@opensource.sf-tec.de

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

Older versions of Kontact used contact images that were not squared, but
higher, so most of my contact images are that way. While this is displayed
correctly when I open the contact the folder view does not keep the aspect
ratio and makes the images wider than they are so they look ugly.

Reproducible: Always

[Bug 222878] kontact process does not exit after closing kontact window in every case

I can confirm this bug for Kubuntu 10.04 (but as I remember, it happens since
Kubuntu switched to KDE 4).
The kontact process hangs any time my dsl router reconnects while kontact is
running and I quit it after this reconnect. Before restarting kontact I have to
kill the process.
My System: Kubuntu 10.04 / KDE 4.5.1 / Kontact 4.4.6 using IMAP.
