Here the conflict resolution box complains a lot about 2 e-mails which only
differs in the modification time.

The left e-mail has a modification time that is the same as the localtime on my
system and the right e-mail has a modification time that is my localtime minus
2 hours (looks like a different timezone). Sometimes, I've seen it only once,
the difference is 2 hours plus or minus 1 second (I don't remember plus or
minus).

Example:
Left:  2011-06-21 01:26:17
Right: 2011-06-20 23:26:17

PS.: My timezone is UTC+2 (UTC+1+DST)
PS2.: I download my e-mails from a POP3-server
PS3.: E-mails are filtered by the filter-feature provided by kmail2

Ok.. Indeed I had kwallet disabled in Control panel (or System settings) ->
Password and user account.

Still, it'd be 'nice' if kMail tried its own window for obtaining passwords
from the user or at least complain in a more user friendly way about the
unability to use kwallet. However, I'm not sure if KMail is supposed to rely
entirely on kwallet..

I don't really know if I've ever used kwallet (I do have it installed, though
:) ). The password field is not really greyed out, merely disabled (but I
suppose it's a matter of the colour theme used).

When I launched 'akonadictl start' in the console I got no output after opening
KMail's POP3 properties window. Of course, I also don't get any window for
entering the password either.

well, sorry to respond late. Finaly I am on kde 4.6.4, kmail 2.1.0 so I can
compare. 

pros: 
 - fetching messages to akonadi resources seems faster or same speed.
 - acting on a loaded message list is considerably faster! I mean like
scrolling the list, opening folded threads, displaying a msg after selecting it
in msg list is now almost instat ! Great work here. 

cons: 
 - one thing is (still) considerably slow and annoying, opening and displaying
the message list after selecting a folder with the mails. 
On a folder with cca 3k mails this takes 2-3s on my atom, a folder with >22k
mails takes 22s! :( 

I tried both settings in Appearance>Mailing list>Configure>Advanced: Favor
interactivity/speed. With no speed gain.

I tried with signed/unsigned messages, if that matters. 
Also, (not sure) but i think i was able to send mail some times, but then it
gets qued and never works again.

as of Akonadi 1.5.3 (possibly earlier), the default akonadiserverrc includes a
QMYSQL/Options setting that specifies an Akonadi-specific socket to use for
MySQL communications.  as far as i can tell, this totally resolves this issue.

i'm also seeing this with contacts and calendar Akonadi resources.  as a
workaround, i'm using the non-Akonadi resources for contacts dir and calendar
file.

broken.
I am not able any more to highlight the content of a received message.
The only way is to select a word/line with double/tripple click.

select a mail in the message list.
click on a word in the message content and move your mouse to highlight a text.

Actual Results:  
Nothing gets selected

Expected Results:  
Text should be highlighted as used in any othe rproigram
(firefox/texteditor,...)

I can confirm this bug, using KMail 2.1.0 on KDE 4.6.4 on Gentoo. There are
actually two issues:

In a non-inbox folder the behavior is as described by the original reporter.

In an inbox folder the very last message of the message list is selected, not
the message following the one just deleted. This behavior may lead to the user
accidentally deleting the wrong message.

I often get error popups that say "Akonadi resource" and "Authentication
failed". There is no information about what resource it is talking about, or
where it tried to authenticate. I suspect it has something to do with my
KOrganizer using remote calendars, but that is only a guess.

Would it be possible to make the error message a bit more informative?
