I can confirm this issue with KMail 4.7.0 and akonadi 4.7.0 (this is the
version number opensuse uses) with KDE 4.7.0, akonadi-runtime package has
version 1.6.0.

I have about 5000 mail in my inbox and akonadi_mixedmaildir_resource uses 716
MB of memory.

I, too have this bug on Kmail (Version 2.1.1 using KDE Development Platform
4.6.5). I can't see any linkage in ldd to libktnef, although libtknef (will
investigate that). I'm running Gentoo, with kernel 2.6.39.

[Bug 277683] kmail2 won't add custom headers or picture to outgoing message

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277683

--- Comment #8 from Maciej J . Woloszyk 2011-07-28 22:30:10
---
I don't really think it's fixed. First I installed it from 4.7.0 Gentoo package
- changes aren't there. The X-Face is added and sent but custom headers aren't.
Next I cloned master from git and compiled kmail from it (using Gentoo ebuild -
I copied cloned directories into Gentoo directory and compiled/installed using
4.7.0 ebuild) - it compiles fine but when I try to send a message with custom
header I get this error in console:

kmail: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkmailprivate.so.4: undefined symbol:
_ZN7Message16ComposerViewBase15setCustomHeaderERK4QMapI10QByteArray7QStringE

Did I do something wrong or is it something with kmail?

[Bug 278737] New: mails marked as read show unread upon next folder refresh

2011-07-28 Thread JHF2442
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278737

Summary: mails marked as read show unread upon next folder
refresh
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.1.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: j-kde_...@joel-hatsch.net

Version: 2.1.1 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS:Linux

messages from old maildirs are marked as unread - why ? good question.

marking the messages as read, they appear anew unread upon "Update folder"
command.

However, not all emails in the folder are marked as unread, and it's not
affecting all folders (but many)

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
- "update folder" command
- mark all emails as read (no matter how)
- no unread emails
- "update folder" command

Actual Results:
emails are already unread

Expected Results:
emails remain read

maildir folders come from kmail1.x

good news : removing the .folder_name.index file (replace folder_name with name
of the folder) seems to solve the issue - is this OK or does it involve
collateral damage ?

possibly a dupe of #276856, but I don't see the issue in my inbox, rather in my
"historic" folders, so maybe a different root cause

i can still confirm the bug on kde 4.7,
also Clark's solution (#9) with reconnecting to network (wicd here too) works
for me, yay! I think workaround with killall kded4 does basically the same
effect- so solid's fault?
Anyways, please vote for the bug, i hope it can be addressed soon as it's kinda
showstopper for kmail.
Thanks

--- Comment #6 from Grégory Oestreicher 2011-07-28 20:39:35

While working on something else I found a nasty bug with egroupware and the 4.7
branch. This was fixed today, so it won't find its way in a stable release
before 4.7.1, due in a month. You should consider switching back to 4.6 for
now.

Unfortunately, this does not explain your issue… When you are trying to
reconfigure the resource and the wizard pops up, do you still have the file
~/.kde/share/config/akonadi_davgroupware_resource_Xrc (with X some number)?

If so, can you check that its content looks OK?

[Bug 278708] kmail, count creating assistant creates only imap4 count

--- Comment #5 from Philippe ROUBACH 2011-07-28

i found where the pb is

in the fist window
if you uncheck "search the isp parameters"
then
in the second windows
you have the choice beteween imap4, pop3 etc.

then less parameters are automaticaly filled

if you check "search the isp parameters"
then
you have no choice, only imap4
but more parameters are automaticaly filled by the assistant

by default "search the isp parameters" is checked

if kmail assistant does not know automaticaly create other count as pop3 then
we must change my bug report to "enhancement"
if kmail assistant knows automaticaly create other count as pop3 then it is a
true bug

[Bug 278726] New: kmail2 migration doesn't support local folder layout supported in kmail1

2011-07-28 Thread Arkadiusz Miskiewicz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278726

Summary: kmail2 migration doesn't support local folder layout
supported in kmail1
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ar...@maven.pl

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS:Linux

In kmail1 my base folder ~/Mail/ doesn't have cur, tmp, new directories. It only
contains subfolders.

Now when kmail2-migrator does migration it adds akonadi resource mixedmaildir
resource for $HOME/Mail but later kmail2 cannot process it (reports fatal
errors and terminates).

ls -l ~/Mail/

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Recreate such folder on system with old kmail1 and try to migrate to kmail2 -
didn't test this procedure on fresh system.

Expected Results:
kmail2 should work fine with this type of configuration as kmail1 was.

Can do more testing, contact me - I'm arekm on freenode irc network.

I'm not seeing any change. Mail that I already had (prior to migrating from
kmail in kde 4.4 to kmail in kde 4.7) still doesn't want to show up.

My IMAP account (GMail) does work fine whether it's new email or old email.
Locally-stored old email is not displaying.

   Summary: Can't read my email
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 1.99.0
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

screenshot

Version: 1.99.0 (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS:Linux

Just upgraded KDE to 4.7.0, and can't read my email in kmail or kmail inside
kontact.

Basically, the bottom-right, where the message should show up, does not show
anything. I've tried setting HTML-enabled, and turning it off. Doesn't seem
to do anything.

And now... I can't see my email. This is core, critical functionality, which
probably deserves a higher severity (at least for me)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Bring up kmail. Click on a message

Actual Results:
Nothing shows up. Double-clicking doesn't bring it up in new window, "V"
doesn't bring up the source. Nada, nothing.

Expected Results:
I get to read my boring-life email.

I just received an e-mail from NetApp that makes the from/to/subject window
display only with the width specified in the e-mail. That seems like a security
problem, maybe an attacker could do more malicious things.

[Bug 278687] New: After deleting an email the following is selected, marked as read and unselected

2011-07-28 Thread FiNeX
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278687

Summary: After deleting an email the following is selected,
marked as read and unselected
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.1.1
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: fi...@finex.org

Steps to reproduce the bug:

1) select an email where the following is "unread"

2) delete it

-> the following email is selected and displayed on the preview, it is marked
as read _and_ it loose immediatly the selection highlight on the list.

This is a problem because if you have a lot of emails it is difficult to
identify the current displayed one.

I suggest two solutions:

a) dont't select anything (so nothing is marked as read and the preview stay
empty)

b) doesn't loose the selection highlight on the list (I prefer this solution).

Thanks :-)

[Bug 278685] New: should indicate that message is marked with icon instead of green text

2011-07-28 Thread Alexander van Loon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278685

Summary: should indicate that message is marked with icon
instead of green text
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: a.vanl...@alexandervanloon.nl

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS:Linux

Currently in Kontact 4.6 if a message is marked as important or as an action
item, thetext of the subject, sender and date in the message list are made
green. Other e-mail clients use icons – such as the exclamation mark is used
for important messages by Evolution – to distinguish mails marked as such in
the message list. The problem with the green text is that the text becomes
white, just like the black text of normal messages, when they are selected. So
if I select a normal mail and a mail marked as important, it's impossible to
see the difference unless deselected. That's why I think KMail should use icons
to distinguish mails marked as important or action item from normal mails.

Reproducible: Always

Thank You very much Vishesh Handa for the first reasonable comment in contrast
to comments given by Christophe Giboudeaux.

It gives us hope for future. As a gentoo+kde user I'am using nepomuk+akonadi on
my desktop system but on my netbook i'am trying to switch everything
unnecessary services off.
I'am curious why this particular notification can't be turned off in standard
KDE system settings -> program notifications panel like many other
notifications ?

Regards for all KDE developers :-)

Ok I saw that it's not easy to implement it.
By default we don't have add to send notification.
So perhaps we must reimplement it.

Will look at it
