[Bug 279244] New: Filter Rules keep disappearing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279244 Summary: Filter Rules keep disappearing Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: Archlinux Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: jmdavisp...@gmx.com Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0) OS:Linux Kmail lists itself as 4.7.0 just like KDE, so I don't know what application version number (2.x) it is, hence why I left it as unspecified. Frequently, when I start kmail, all of my filter rules are gone (also kmail forgets which accounts and folders and I had expanded on the left-hand side and they're all collapsed). They only way that I've been able to keep them is to export them and then re-import them every time that I start kmail. Most of the time, I always leave kmail running, so it only shuts down when I logout/restart/shutdown the computer, and then it restarts when I log in again. I suspect that the problem is related to that, since if I exit kmail and reopen it it's fine, but if I reboot the computer and it was running before I rebooted, then the filters are gone when I get back into KDE. I'm not sure if it's 100% consistent about that though. Regardless, at least a large percentage of the time, when I first use kmail after logging in, I have to re-import my filter rules, because kmail lost them. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open kmail. 2. Restart computer via kde menu. 3. Log in to KDE. 4. Open kmail. 5. Filter rules are gone and kmail forgot what was collapsed and what was expanded on the left-hand side. Actual Results: Filter rules disappeared and accounts and folders on the left-hand side are all collapsed. Expected Results: Filter rules remain just as they were before restarting, and the accounts and folders on the left-hand side are just as expanded or collapsed as they were before restarting. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 279248] New: While filtering the message list always jumps back to the message selected before the filtering
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279248 Summary: While filtering the message list always jumps back to the message selected before the filtering Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: message list AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: sven.burmeis...@gmx.net Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0) OS:Linux Kmail saves the message that was selected last per folder. While it filters emails, e.g. from an imap account to local folders it updates the message view of all local folders every few seconds (maybe even after each message that was moved to some folder), even for those folders that did not get new messages. (bug 1) Further, when updating the message list it always jumps back to the message that was selected the last time the user changed to another folder. This makes it impossible to read emails while filtering is going on. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Filter messages from an imap account to local folders. While kmail filters select different message within a local folder. Actual Results: Kmail jumps back to the message that was selected the last time before the folder was changed. Expected Results: Do not update message lists of folders that did not get new emails. Stick to the currently selected message. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 279149] New: Slow mark as read and folder loading
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279149 Summary: Slow mark as read and folder loading Product: Akonadi Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Maildir Resource AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: aman...@kde.org I added a new maildir resource and set it to my Mail folder. This resulted in all mails appearing as unread. Now if I click on a folder with many mails (3000 to 3), it takes even minutes to load. This is somewhat expected as KMail's message list is slow as well. The problem appears when I try to mark them as read (right click on a folder, Mark all Mails as Read). This is also slow, and after the messages are marked as read, the resources starts to fetch again all the mails. I get lots of akonadi_maildir_resource_0 (0x884c90) 70850 UID FETCH 226252 FULLPAYLOAD CACHEONLY ANCESTORS INF EXTERNALPAYLOAD (UID REMOTEID REMOTEREVISION COLLECTIONID FLAGS SIZE) fetches (with the UID increasing). If I attach the debugger to the resource, it shows it is busy inside MaildirResource::itemChanged. The changed part is the FLAGS part, that should be because of the Mark as Read. The code goes through this part then: if ( mSettings-readOnly() || !payloadChanged ) { changeProcessed(); here return; } Now if you do the right click on a folder-Mark all Mails as Read for a few folders one after the other, you will see the busy indicator near the folders. The messages will be eventually marked as read, but the busy indicator remains due to the above fetches. Curiously I let the machine running over night and it was still busy in the morning, with heavy disk activity from the maildir resource. The agent_config_akonadi_maildir_resource_0_changes.dat grew also big, it was 13MB. Furthermore even after I restarted the akonadi server and cleaned up the changes.dat file, the first access to a folder is very slow and the business is in the resource, not kmail. Further accesses are somewhat faster, even if I restart kmail. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

I tried to add it as a maildir resource to akonadi, and although in the settings dialog it shown that it is a valid maildir folder, nothing appeared under the resource. After a long time I realized it needs a .Mail.directory folder as well. So a symlink from Mail to .Mail.directory fixed the issue, although this is not nice as: - usually the toplevel Mail folder doesn't have the corresponding .directory - there was no warning/error that the folder I pointed to is not usable in this form and how can this be fixed The mixedmaildir resource recognized the folder without the .Mail.directory -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
